Question about Pyle Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

In testing my pyle visor monitors (PLVSR10) prior to installation on my show truck I find the passenger side monitor works flawlessly while the drivers side fires up but continually shows "no signal" even when connected directly to the DVD player. Have tried switching the wiring harnesses side for side, no luck. Am I missing something, or did I get a bad monitor? Thanks for any insight.

Hello,

your are noting doing anything wrong. Since you connected the monitor directly to the DVD player and its still showing "no signal", then obviously, there is something wrong with the monitor. Maybe you did got a bad monitor.

If the monitor is still under warranty, take it back and replace with with another. This time, make sure it is tested.

But if it is not under warranty, then maybe you will have to take it to a repairman to fix the problem for you.

Good luck.

the monitor is bad
if it will not power on,
or show NOSIG< with XBOX on then turned off the monitor must show NOSIG>
why not test the monitor on any pc made even laptops VGA jacks works, so that works, its not the monitor.
and bad xbox video caused. but is not it. as you said.
the menu needs sync lines active. to pops the OSD button menu.
so the monitor is bad.

or the cable.

This HP product contains mercury in the fluorescent lamp
in the display LCD that might
require special handling at
end-of-life:

that means CCFL died, also all do, soon.
(as short as 2 years, full time , they die. 20k hours)
out of your service manual it shows.

not in sleep mode.
if there is sinc, H/V pins active
that OSD must work or the blacklamp is dead
use flashlight see, there is data there, see?

No signal from computer to monitor 8/13/08!

I had the exact same problem!! Drove me crazy for days. Couldn't find any answers online, contacted Gateway tech support and they told me my warranty was expired but they'd be happy to discuss my issue for $2 per minute. Gateway can **** it!!

At first I thought the problem might be a malfunctioning NVIDIA card, a problem with my DVI cable, or the monitor itself. But, after turning off the computer, unplugging the DVI cable, replugging the DVI cable and restarting the computer, I noticed I could get the firmware flash screen to show, including the BIOS menu boot and the Gateway system reinstall screen to show. As soon as the Windows flash logo would display, however, the monitor would drop out and display the dreaded "No Signal" error.
This indicated the problem was a software one and not hardware! The cable, monitor and video card were all working fine. Then I remembered that Windows installed its automatic update a few days prior. In fact...

THE PROBLEM TURNED OUT TO BE A WINDOWS UPDATE INSTALLED A FEW DAYS PRIOR.

After succesfully booting into safe mode (F8 during the flash/bootup screens), I went to Add or Remove programs in the control panel, clicked on the "Show Updates" box on the top, and uninstalled the Windows update from a few days prior to the occurance of the error. After a reboot the problem was solved.

I hope this will help anybody else struggling with this error!
