If you haven't already tried this, turn off the unit, remove the battery for several minutes. This should reset the device and correct the issue. If it doesn't, then it will need service.

It is a hardware problem in this set... there is one solution I found on the

Ok there might be a battery issue. Or there might need to be a touch calibration reset. To do that go to your settings and select touch calibration and do it again.
ALSO IF YOUR PHONE IS STILL IN WARRENTY AKA WITHIN 1 YEAR OF PURCHASE THEN CALL 1800 801 1101. THEY WILL HELP YOU. YOU WILL NEED YOUR IMEI NUMBER OFF THE BACK OF THE PHONE. IF NOT CALL THE INSURANCE HOTLINE WHICH IS ON THE AT&T WEBSITE.
