I have a GE Hotpoint fridge Model CTX14CAXKRWH. Freezer is over freezing & main unit warm/wet with condensation. Is this a thermostat issue? Is it even worth replacing in a unit from 1994?

Check the freezer fan motor if one. Also check the doorway that allows freezer air into the refrigerator part for proper operation.

Why does my GE top-freezer have hot spots in the freezer area

Probably the door heaters. They prevent the door from freezing shut.

What sort of oil does my harley rocker c take

You do not mention engine or primary or transmission. HD SYN3 can be used in any or all. I believe for the engine the best is Harley-Davidson 360 (20/50) in most operating temperatures I am operating in. If you know how HD tested, developed and otherwise came up with this oil it is quite impressive. You could use synthetic (SYN3) but I don't I just use the regular HD 360 motorcycle oil. You do need motorcycle oil because it has necessary, very beneficial additives that are not in automotive oils. Unless you are running in very hot outside temperatures I do not see the benefit to SYN3 but if one has money to throw around it is very good oil also. Thing is to change it always before it gets a chance to break down and or turn dirty. HD recommends changing the oil and filter at 5000 miles or 8000 km intervals and I would recommend that or sooner in very hot or dusty conditions. Using synthetic oil does not extend these mileages between changes. If you have been using one type of oil for an extended time it is usually not recommended to change to a different type i.e. HD 360 to SYN3 or vice versa. If you do not know what was used before pick a type now and stick with it. SYN3 is all 20W50. (The W stands for winter.) The oil has a viscosity of 20 cold and will not thin out more than a 50 weight would when it is hot.

Harley recommends HD 360 engine oil as follows:

H.D. Multi-Grade SAE 10W40 as excellent for cold weather starts below 50 degrees F and for use with lowest ambient temperature below 40 degrees F (4 degrees C).
H.D. Multi-Grade SAE 20W50 as good for cold weather starts below 50 degrees F and for use with lowest ambient temperature above 40 degrees F (4 degrees C).

H.D. Multi-Grade SAE 50 as poor for cold weather starts below 50 degrees F and for use with lowest ambient temperature above 60degrees F (16 degrees C).

H.D. Multi-Grade SAE 60 as poor for cold weather starts below 50 degrees F and for use with lowest ambient temperature above 80 degrees F (27 degrees C).

For transmission and/or primary use SYN3 or FORMULA+ TRANSMISSION AND PRIMARY CHAINCASE LUBRICANT (Part No. 99851-05, US quart size).

I won't deal with fork oil at all.

Whatever you do, NEVER use anything but DOT 4 Brake Fluid.in a DOT 4 system. Also be careful with it as it will eat away any and all painted surfaces and even the black powder coated brake fluid reservoir coatings.
If DOT 5 goes into a DOT4 system or DOT 4 goes into a DOT5 system all rubber brake system components will be destroyed.

The water is from the heating element that does the autodefrost. There should be a drain for it though.

My dehumidifier keeps turning off is hooked up to hose no water draining air filter is clean. model #ld450eal 45 pint

The most common problem is that the humidity extraction level is set to high. Set it to it's lowest setting. If you have an LED screen on your unit, the lowest setting will probably be 35%. Or in the case of no LED screen, Minimal will be the setting you want to use.

Since you're using a drain hose, I assume the unit is in the basement. If that's the case, the ambient air temperature at floor level, may be to cold for the unit to operate properly. Most dehumidifiers struggle at air temperatures between 40 and 60 degrees F. Try placing the unit up off the floor on something sturdy that can handle the weight (including a full tank of water) and the vibration during operation.

Hope this helped you trouble shoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi,

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Can a refrigerator be placed in a garage that houses the electric furnace?

Hi, all fridge freezers work on ambient room temperatures, ie room temperature. Also it will depend on the classification of your fridge freezer. On a normal classification fr/free 70 degrees should be a constant maximum. On a sub normal classification room temp should not exceed 50 degrees. on a sub tropical room temp can be pretty much as warm as you like. On the rating plate inside your fridge freezer two small letters exist (N) normal. (SN) sub normal. (ST) sub tropical. Most fridges will work for a while in the wrong temp but will work too hard and pack up

depending on the make and model of your fridge, you most likely have a faulty temperature control which needs to be replaced.

some newer GE side by sides have a different issue.

HEAT PUMP OPERATION FOR TEMPSTAR SMART COMFORT 2400, MODEL THC436AKC1. LOWEST OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE FOR OPERATION?

I have installed many heat pumps and if it is installed without and ouside temperature sensor I would not recommend running it below freezing 32 degrees farenheheit. Running a heat pump at low outside ambient temps. can hurt your compressor and that is the most expensive part of the outside unit.
