Question about Microwave Ovens
Replacing a magnetron (not "megatron", by the way!) is not difficult. In most ovens, it's held in by a few screws (usually 4) and there are two wires connected to terminals on the mag. Often it's harder to get the oven apart than it is to change the part.
However, you shouldn't try replacing a magnetron yourself. There are lethal voltages present under the cover, often for a long while after you've unplugged the appliance. In addition, unless the mag is replaced properly there is a danger of excessive microwave leakage. This is a repair definitely best left for a professional.
But why consider replacing the magnetron at all? It's the costliest part to replace, and you may find it only a little more expensive to buy a new oven. In fact, for small countertop models, the replacement cost is frequently less than that of a new magnetron. And if you're trying to solve a "no heating" symptom, the magnetron may not even be the trouble.
If you are determined to do the job yourself, there are sites online with parts and how-to information. But I strongly advise you not to do it
