Question about Samsung SGH-a777 Cell Phone
Hello.
Well to get a good idea of how to take a phone apart, I'd suggest that you take a look at these three take apart tutorials that I've written.

Taking apart a cell phone is very much same from model to model, brand to brand, pretty much the same basic things.
1. Remove all screws, check under soft objects, labels etc for hidden screws.
2. then casing is most likely held in place with plastic clips only.
and go from there.
I have alot of samsung service manuals but unfortunately they expect the mechanic to be able to take apart the phone without instructions, so they don't have any take apart instructions.

I think I had the same exact problem when I was taking apart a nokia 26xx Sliding phone apart, I'll have to check how I did that and get back to you soon.
sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I finaly found the nokia phone with the sliding screen. I remember it had 2 screws and then it was somehow difficult to remove. I'll take it apart and let you know what I did in this case.
Okay I figured it out.
On the top part, Remove the two srews from the top, then you see plastic clips that hold the display on place in the bottom so we can't just pull it up from there.
You have to carefully go to the top where the two screws where and pull the screen up from the edges. it is held in place with plastic clips, unlike the once in the bottom these will release the screen and won't break.
So stick your fingernail or a flat screw driver at the top corners of the back metal where the screws where and push up, go around the metal and push it up, eventually the display is free.
I can record this to a video for you if needed.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Remove the two screws on the panel on top of the Nano and remove the top panel.
Use a case opener tool to pop the plastic screen cover off the unit.
Slide the screen up to expose the orange ribbon cable on the bottom of the screen that connects to the motherboard.
Unplug the orange ribbon cable from its port and slide the screen out of the Nano.
Fit a new screen in the Nano and plug the ribbon cable into the port.
Replace the screen cover and top panel of the Nano.
hope this helps

Doesn't help. The screen in the SAmsing SGH a777 is in the sliding part. I would think I need to pry off the slide but it really doesn't want to come off. With the slide on, I can only access two of the screws holding the screen. I can, of course, get to four screws in the battery compartment. ???
Yes. Thanks.
