I agree with the mechanic..
I would have someone remove the security system all together from the van...
You dont mention what model van ... or year... so it's hard to discern what to do from this point.

All I'm asking is how many miles does a Ford Expedition go up to.

Depends entirely on the vehicle usage and maintenance.

I once dealt with a vehicle owned by a little old lady who wasn't very mobile. She used it to go to the shops and it hardly went anywhere else. At seven years old the engine was completely worn out at around 4500 miles.

On the other hand such vehicles as taxis and courier vans that are working two or three shifts per day, seven days a week never really endure the cold start where the majority of engine wear takes place and well-maintained examples regularly achieve half a million miles.

There is no recommended change point for an engine - simply change it when there is something too expensive wrong or it has become worn and rattly and started being smoky, unreliable and uneconomic.

Antitheft or Security system failure is a common problem on GM vehicles. Every time you put your key in the ignition, the vehicle's security system reads the signal from your key to make sure it is OK to run. When it receives the "correct key" signal, the security system allows the starter to turn over, and/or the fuel injectors to function and your car works like it normally does every day. If you were to use a different key, or try to hot wire it, the system would shut down these parts of your car, thus making the vehicle completely immobile. This is GM's way of preventing vehicle theft. The problem is that the system is known to fail quite commonly. It has been failing consistently for around 30 years. When it fails, two things can happen. First, you turn the key and nothing happens at all. Lights work, radio works, windows work... just not the starter that you need to start the vehicle. This is a "starter immobilizer". Second, you turn the key and the vehicles starts just fine, but then stalls in 2-5 seconds. This is a "fuel immobilizer". It literally cuts off the fuel injectors and stalls the vehicle to immobilize it. These are normally, but not always followed by a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. These lights are to inform you of the system's failure to collect the information it needs from your key to the computer. If your security/antitheft light is on, odds are you will be stranded soon, if not already. Remember that the security system controls the security light. If the system is failing, the light may never warn you of the failure. There is a lot of info on this site that you can read up on. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

If your van starts about 3 times. Immediately stops 3 times. Then doesn't start. You have a bad solder in your dash. Usually, the way to test is this is to spank the dash briskly. This seems to rejoin the bad solder and your Van with start. If this does the trick, take it to your repair person. Tell him to take out the instrument cluster and resolder the connections. This will fix it. We have fixed 2 or three vans the same way.

The van will start and run for about 2 seconds and quit i changed fuel pump, filter, distubitor, cam and crank sensors and module

Gm vehicles have been known to have faulty anti theft security systems. One of the symtoms of this is when your vehicle starts for 1-5 seconds and then stalls. A good way to know if this is the problem is when you see a light on the dash that says SECURITY. If you see this light flashing or on solid, this explains the van not starting. In my 2000 chevy camaro my security light is on and my car wont start what process do i need to do to get it running?

Your vehicle is equipped with the PASS-Key II (Personalized Automotive Security System) theft-deterrent system.
PASS-Key II is a passive theft-deterrent system. It works when you insert or remove the key from the ignition.
PASS-Key II uses a resistor pellet in the ignition key that matches a decoder in your vehicle. When the PASS-Key II system senses that someone is using the wrong key, it shuts down the vehicle's starter and fuel systems. For about three minutes, the starter won't
work and fuel won't go to the engine. If someone tries to start your vehicle again or uses another key during this time, the vehicle will not start. This discourages someone from randomly trying different keys with different resistor pellets in an attempt to make a match.

The ignition key must be clean and dry before it's inserted in the ignition or the engine may not start. If the engine does not start and the SECURITY light stays on when you try to start the vehicle, the key may be dirty or wet. Turn the ignition off.

Clean and dry the key. Wait about three minutes and try again. The SECURITY light may remain on during this time. If the starter still won't work, and the key appears to be clean and dry, wait about three minutes and try another ignition key. At this time, you may also want to check the fuses (see "Fuses and Circuit Breakers" in the Index). If the starter won't work with the other key, your vehicle needs service. If your vehicle does start, the first ignition key may be faulty. See your dealer or a locksmith who can service the PASS-Key II.

If you accidentally use a key that has a damaged or missing resistor pellet, the starter won't work. The SECURITY light will flash. But you don't have to wait three minutes before trying another ignition key.

See your dealer or a locksmith who can service the PASS-Key II to have a new key made.

If you're ever driving and the SECURITY light comes on and stays on, you will be able to restart your engine if you turn it off. Your PASS-Key II system, however, is not working properly and must be serviced by your dealer. Your vehicle is not protected by the PASS-Key II system. If you lose or damage a PASS-Key II ignition key, see your dealer or a locksmith who can service PASS-Key II to have a new key made. In an emergency, call the Chevrolet Roadside Assistance Center at 1-800-CHEV-USA or 1-800-243-8872 (In Canada call 1-800-268-6800).

I have a Python alarm system installed in my service van less than a year ago and it was fine until a couple a days ago.nowwhen I activate the alarm every 35 minutes or so the alarm goes off Ive checked...

You LIKELY have electrical leakage in the door switches. Check these with an ohmeter on a high range. Check your wiring as well.

Electronic devices are sensitive to small leakage currents not detected by usual testers.

You MIGHT alksoi check your main battery connections in the vehicle. These can become intermittent and when you start the car you burn off the oxidatioon and they are good for a bit.

HARD TO START LIKE NOT GETTING FUEL

The van will start fine for periods of 2 - 3 weeks then will turn over & won't start. Usually within the next day or two it will start & run fine
& the cycle repeats. This has been going on since Jan. I've had it towed 5 times, looked at by 2 different mechanics & a chev dealership
mechanic. Still nobody has a clue whats going on. The van has 94,000
miles & besides this problem runs fine. I've had it for almost 7 years
without any other problems. This is beyond the point of being frustrating. I use the van for my business & its embarrasing when
I have to get it towed from a customers house. If anyone has any
ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Bob
