The most common reason for a leak is the pump that circulates and disposes of water.
The seals generally fail and when they start to go, they may not leak continuously.
Just remove the back panel and peer into the guts with a flashlight.
The pump is normally a semitransparent whitish plastic and will have 2, sometimes 3 hoses connected.
It is driven by belt too so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Check around the pump for signs of deposits from detergent and possibly calcium that forms at a slow leak.
Replacing the pump is not difficult for the average home handyman.

Check your phone directory for a company called Johnstone Supply.
If you have one not too far away, it is worth ~ $20 US to buy one from them.
They are generally a supplier to tradespeople but I have never been turned away or charged other than the price quoted by phone and they are easy to deal with.
Have your model number handy or (if you can confirm the pump is leaking) go to the Sears site, go to the parts page and enter your model number. Their site is great for line-drawing illustrations that use reference numbers to find the part you need.
You could even do this first if you are unsure what the pump looks like; it will be identified in the parts list.
You can also check their price but it is often double that of Johnstone's.

Washing machine leaks during spin and drain cycle

If the leak is still present after you replace the hoses , you may need to get a new water pump ( cheap part ) it is probably leaking , it removes the dirty water from the washer during spin and rinse cycle . hope this helps

Water leaking from bottom of machine - machine not washing well

It is important that you look underthe washer to confirm the point of leak so as to get a first hand information. If the leak is during the wash cycle it can be from fault of the celing gasket or a leak from the drum moving spindle. However if it is during the rinse cycle, the leak can be from the out let hose,drainvalve/drainpump.If so the hose can be tighten or the valve pump can be removed, repaired and reset.

GE washing machine leaks at bottom

If this machine has a place to put pour fabric softener in that's sits under the lid on the cabinet? If so, the hose that allows the softener drain into the tub is either leaking or is disconnected.

Washer leaks from bottom during rinse cycle

Take the cover off the back, and look up, next to where you put the soap in, when it's filling/rinsing. There is (like) a (white) plastic valve body, and look to see if water is dripping out of it. I haven't figured out a solution to that yet, other than to replace it.

Also check the boot, coming off the pump. You could have a bad/dry boot, or a loose hose clamp.

Leaking

The pumps usually have rubber hoses fitted them and they can deteriorate over time, moreso around the clamps that hold them onto the pump. Also, maybe the pump has been slightly opened via a worn seal. Either way, there may be a risk of fire if any water gets onto the electrical connections of the pump or spray onto any other open electrical connection inside the machine. It would certainly be advisable to have it checked with some urgency.

During the final rinse and spin, I would think the pump may not be used during these cycles.

Hope this helps somewhat.
