Question about Canon CFX-L4000 Plain Paper Laser Fax
The problem lies with the condition of the receiveing fax' line condition. There are settings that can adjust the attenuation and the equalization on fax signals. The problem is the telco requires no louder than -6Dba signal volume set by the attenuator. If the noise level on the line approaches that figure, then the equalizer can be set to adjust the frquency or the attenuator can be set to adjust the volume. If there is too much noise on the fax line, then it becomes difficult to adjust. At a last resort, you can request the telephone company to clean up the line for you. Don't hold your breath too long however, since the telco's are noted for denial. What you can do is request those receivers who have difficulty, to have their machines tweeked. If they are located in an industrial area, then they should request the telco for assistance. Most modern commercial fax machines have an auto setting on the "One touch" buttons that will recognize what it takes to get a fax through and it will "remember" that setting for future faxes. Try that. You can look in the user manual to see how to do it. Best of luck
