Hi. I missing a power adapter that goes to my LCD Monitor and i cant find one online anywhere. It's a 12v 2.5a DC which i figured wouldnt be to hard to find but it appears as though no one carries them. I was wondering if its possible to somehow connect the LCD Monitor to the computers power supply. I know this sounds bold and probably stupid but i think there could be a possiblity.
I did not have a power adapter for my lcd monitor but after 2 weeks of searching stores, internet and universal adapters I found the power adapter for my specific monitor on ebay. If that doesn't work I would suggest a universal power adapter.

There are several Mag monitors that use external AC adapters that plug into the VGA cable. Look on the blue connector and you should see the hole where the adapter plugs. The adapter is 12v 5 amp such as this one.
I guess you could be looking for something like these http://www.coywood.co.uk/lcd-power-supply-flat-screen-mains-adapter-adp-65db-12v-7a-2222-p.asp http://www.power-adapters.co.uk/12v-dmtech-4-pin-power-supply-adapter-p-4668.html http://ezlaptopadapters.com/12v-7a-4-pin-power-supply-adapter-p-4006.html
the manufacturer would be the place to go for a replacement cord or power adapter. You can find the contact information on the back of the monitor usually. Here are some sites that may have the power cord: 1. http://www.12vadapters.com/adapter/power-supply/12v/for-lcd-screens/sceptre-x9g-agama-s1901d.html
I would say it can... strange though that the new supply would harm it. As long as the voltage is correct having a bigger supply should not be an issue. Something to check, is the plug that plugs into the unit the orrect polarity. diffent manufactures make the center pin (+) others make it (-). Most Engineers (being one myself) try and make any connection the end user can normally get to protected against these types of problems.
using a power supply rated for more current in itself should not cause a problem because the device determines how much current it needs.... make sure of the polarity and also that it is a 12V DC supply you are using.
Or you can just type in 12v 2.5A LCD Adapter in an Ebay search. You can usually find a bunch of buy now power supplies that come with cords for a decent price. I've been using one of these for a year or so on my monitor.
Hi, for a 12v 2 ampers device any universal laptop power suply can be used. They usually are tesignedfor about 2-4 ampers so it won't be a problem. All you have to ake soure is the correct polarity, and the changeable dc plug.
do not have power adapter
