It sounds like you have a defective water inlet valve. This is where your fill hoses connect to the back of the washer. The valve usually has two electrically operated solenoid valves (one for hot, one for cold). These solenoids can go bad and cause the valve to leak by. The valves can also become clogged with sediment and not close properly, also causing leak by. If you have hard water this could be the case. Also, low water pressure can sometimes cause these valves not to seat properly. A minimum of 10-25 psi is required at the taps. If you've never had a water pressure issue in the past, I would doubt this to be your problem. You can try cleaning the valve to see if this helps. But, if you're going to go through the trouble of removing the valve to clean it, you might as well replace it so you don't have to repeat the process later.

To access, the valve you will need to remove the top panel of the washer by removing the three screws that hold it in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the top will slide back, then off. The fill valve will be located on the left hand side in the rear of the washer.

If you desire to replace it, a new valve can be found at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your complete model number in the Search window and look under the "Dispenser Parts" heading for item number 1 (part #8181694).

If you need instructions on how to replace the valve, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

My whirlpool duet washer had a F02 code now it won't pump water

Repairing the F02 error code can usually be done without ordering parts. Tools needed to repair your whirlpool Duet F02 error code are towels and a quarter inch socket.
Tip the washer back at a 45 degree angle. On the bottom panel there are three or four screws, with the screws removed the panel will slide down and off. With the lower access panel now removed you will have access to the washers drain pump clean out.
With the water already bailed from the washer you can twist the filter head counter-clockwise to remove. Twisting the filter head counter-clockwise will loosen filter so it can be pulled out.
With the filter out clean and install it back into washer.
Run a quick cycle to ensure the washer is back up and running and the F02 error has disappeared. If the error comes back, it may require you to clean the drain pump filter again.
If you require a new drain pump motor, you can purchase the part from the link below.

Whirlpool front loader duet hd washer gets stuck in the wash cycle with the error code of F02. What is F02 mean?

Whirlpool Duet front-load washer F02 usually means it is taking over 8 minutes for the washer to sense that the rinse or wash water has drained, which either means that the drain/filter is clogged or the pressure switch/tube is clogged (causing both the washer to over-fill with water and not sensing that water has drained).

To clear out the drain/filter, tilt the washer backwards a little for easier to the kick-plate and support the front bottom with a wood block or similar, remove the front kick-plate's (3) retaining screws and swing the kick-plate up out of the way. The filter drain is behind the white knob in the center, be prepared with something to catch any remaining water and lots of towels to soak up any spills, and turn the knob counter-clockwise to remove the filter.

My whirlpool duet washer keeps running water into the machine, how can I stop it

Make sure your drain hose is placed up at least as high as the top of the
machine .. it has to be at that level to work properly. If you have low drain pipes just get some pvc that will fit snugly a little longer in lenglth
to raise the drain hose up. Works like a charm.

My whirlpool washer duet sport is not draining water out and displays error code f-21

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F21 indicates long drain, this error occurs when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes. To resolve this check the drain hose and make sure it is not kinked with any foreign particles; also clean the drain pump filter for any clogs. Also check if the pump is running fine. If still the issue is not resolved after all this then you might have to replace the pump. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer: front load whirlpool washing machine runs fine unt...

You can try this:

First check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly screwed. Next check your filter if you haven't for long.

Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something shd be blocking your pump, check this out

How abt a nice rating for the free help? Thnks

Monthly Cleaning Protocol

  1. Hello. here it is: Use only the proper amount of HE (high-efficiency) detergent in your Duet. Whirlpool has stated that using too much detergent or fabric softener in the Duet can ruin a high-speed spin bearing responsible for spinning the basket. The replacement part is approximately $600. Whirlpool also claims that using too much detergent or softener can cause fungus growth.
  2. If you have mold and mildew problems with your Duet, check the filter trap. Unplug the washer and remove the three screws in the seam between the door and the bottom panel to remove the bottom panel. The Duet drain pump has a design flaw that leaves about a cup of water in the filter trap under the tub. Clean out that filter with bleach every month or two to eliminate mold problems.
  3. Put small items in a mesh bag before washing. There is a good chance they will get lodged in the Duet's filter trap, if you don't. Check the filter trap mentioned in Step 2 monthly to make sure there aren't any small items blocking the filter.
  4. Remove your detergent dispenser every month and wash with warm water and bleach to prevent mold buildup. Remove the fungus smell from your washer with Affresh washer cleaner. Always keep the washer door open when not in use.
