Question about HP LASERJET P1006 Printer

1 Answer

Hi there. I have a HP LaserJet P1006 printer and a laptop with Windows 7. The print jobs get stuck in the que and I cant delete it. I installed the cd software many times, and I have installed the software drivers from the website, but then it will print 1 page and get stuck again. The green light keeps blinking but it doesnt print. I have restarted the spooler, doesnt help. Removed the device several times and started all over. Print 1 page then nothing again. Also the icon of the printer at the devices folder is not the same as my printer. Please tell me there is someone that can help. I am losing lots of time and cant do my work, please!

SOURCE: Print spooler problem cannot delete printer jobs

Hi there
You can try see if this may do it.

Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.

In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right

Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".

Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".

Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.

Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.

Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.

The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

SOURCE: Printer 966. Deleting Print Job stuck in Que

Sounds like a problem with the spooler.
Try to bypass the spooler when printing by right clicking on your printer and select "properties"

Select the "advanced" tab and select "print directly to the printer".
Hoepfully this should take care of it.

Solved a similar problem by turning off the UAC (User Account Control) in Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines. Worked great without UAC on.

You may have a print job stuck in your print que which is blocking any other print jobs from going through. Here is a step by step guide to clear the print que and see if that fixes your printing issue.

Print que on hp 4300 says "printing" but nothing happens and I cannot clear que

Hello,

This is a common problem with Windows machines. If a print job gets corrupted in the print que it will stop and block all other jobs from printing. It will also block the job from being deleted normally. You have to stop the print que service and then delete the print jobs from the que. Here is a link to a full article that shows how to stop the que, delete the print jobs and restart the que to restore printing.

Cannot print on shared printer

I had the same problem with HP 1018 printer, when I had two computers connected to a domain and had Windows XP SP3 on them and when I shared the printer on one of them - I could only print from the network if the user belonged to the Local Administrators group on the host/server computer. Once the network user is removed from Administrators - the print jobs are stuck in print queue. I used the "HP LaserJet Host Based Print Driver Package" that is on HP web site for HP laserjet 1018 printer.
Then I tried to use a different driver for that printer and was successful with driver for HP LaserJet 1020. After forcing that printer to use the 1020 drivers, the regular users were able to print to that printer.

If you are using windows XP here's the process for deleting the jobs in the print que. Click "start" on bottom left on desktop screen of XP. Then hit the "Printers & Faxes" icon. Double click on your printer. When the window opens up highlight the first item on the list and hit delete. The first print job should be clear in a short time. Continue with the next on the list until the print window is clear. Close the window and try printing again.

If this has helped you, please rate it with a FIXYA!
