Question about Epson ACULASER CX11NF All-In-One Printer

I suddenly get a communication error with Epson CX11NF printer. Cable tested good. USB port on PC tests good. Same error on 2 identical PC's with the same printer driver. It has been working fine for 3 years, then suddenly "poof", gone. Printer is in Print Mode and ready. Don't know the problem.

Communication error


2 possible probs on this depends on if you are using Wireless or cable If wireless it basically means that your laptop or desktop computer is not receiving instructions from printer and thats why there is a communication error coming up, try just testing wireless port on another laptop to see if its a fault with the one you have,
If its a Usb cable issue try reconnecting in another Usb port sometimes some ports are usb 2.0 or 3.0 and will not be powerful enough for your printer, In addition try using another cable it could be faulty also printer cables are sometimes similar to scanner cables swap them round this depends on the male fitting though if they are the same,
another method is disconnect printer from computer and run a self diagnostic on its own to see if its working alright if ok reconnect but before you do make sure your computer is up and running first with Usb it cable plug and play which means your computer should recognise it and install software required if a disk is required make sure thats ready
Or could be something real simple like your usb or connector is not connected correctly take them out clean and put back in reboot and retry

Keep getting the error message "Printer not responding".


How are you connecting the printer to the computer? (USB, parallel, ethernet) Make sure there are no error messages/lights blinking and that the unit is on.

If you are using an USB cable, try a new cable. Also try a direct connection if you have a USB hub or print server in use. Make sure the USB ports are active (not disabled for power saving or security). Test the port with a known working device.

If you are using the parallel cable, make sure it is properly secured. Also try a new cable. Again try a direct connection instead of a print server.

If you are using an ethernet connection, again try a new cable. Check if your firewall is blocking communication with the printer. (Test this by temporarily turning off the firewall. If it starts working, make the printer a trusted part of the network. With some firewalls, you may need to unblock communication for both incoming and outgoing communication with the printer.)

Hi, I have brand new Canon MP140 3 in 1. I am getting the error message &cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off. Check status. scanner driver will be...


1. If you are connected correctly (via a USB cable), first be certain that the cable is snug on both sides (PC and Canon MP140).

2. If still a problem, remove the Canon MP140 icon from Printers and Faxes.

3. Then, disconnect the USB cable.

4. Restart your PC and log into Windows.

5. Connect the USB cable.

6. The PC should recognize the Canon MP130 and ask for a driver.

7. Install the driver.

If #6 does not happen, your USB cable could be faulty or may be a problem with USB port or your Canon. Move USB cable to a different USB port on the PC. Replace the USB cable. Try to install the Canon on a different PC to test.

Epson RX580 Communication Error During Install


Hey...

I ran into a similar problem (okay, the same problem), and my problem turned out to be my USB cable. I was using an extender. When I ran the cable to the PC without the cable extender, my problems disappeared. If you're not using an extender, you might just try a different USB cable.

RX620 wont communicate via powered USB hub.


on a windows system, go to printers and faxes, delete all icons there. unplug the printer, reboot your computer, then as soon as your computer is up, connect the usb cable... now wait.....
after about 5 mins, check printers and faxes if it has an icon for your printer, if it does then print a test page, if it does not show an icon, try another cable, try another usb port or try it on another computer entirely...

check under device manager, click on Universal serial bus controllers. on the list you should have USB PRINTING SUPPORT, then check on printers and faxes right click on your al-cx11nf icon and click on properties and clcik on ports tab, make sure it is set to usb001 virtual printer port \

if that doesnt work try connecting printer using ethernet or straight cable so that you will know if there is something wrong with the ports at the back of your printer

by the way make sure that it is a direct connection

I had this problem. Try unplugging any usb connection to the computer, turn off, then turn on and then try a stand alone copy. It was my USB connection to the computer which had locked up the copier.
After this it was fine.
