Change bad internal MMC Card for a new one, connect via USB to PC , run f20servicepack1.exe. Don't forget to install Navman's USB drivers ( c:\program files\navman\f20 service pack\USB\ .

Try this you will find two screws in bottom of unit unscrew and carefully open unit dis conect battery and speaker take out four/five black screws inside you will see a mini sd card gently lift up you will then see long pins get a pin and very gentle lift each one about 2mm up then put card back down attach battery and turn on see if it bootup if yes then revers and put back together.

I reset my F series, now it tells me

unfortunately, per C-Net's review page at "http://www.cnet.com.au/navman-f20-339272352.htm#comments" there may not be any software available as that these units are now "obsolete". but there does not seem to be any "free" software at all.

hold it! just found the software page from the company at "http://www.navmansupport.com.au/All%20Navman%20FAQs/Software/F%20Series.htm" for this unit. could not find a "direct" link to the download, but you may have better luck.

it would seem that there are drivers in windows for this ( according to what I saw on the site)

on some further searching, it seems that there is a sd card in the side that may be loose, check that out, too!

Remove memory and put it back, if it still does not work memory is probably faulty.

Navman f20 wont turn on says F20 ERROR UNABLE TO DETECT INTERNAL MEMORY

Hi,
Not much to do here I'm afraid. a repair is needed. If your device is not under warranty anymore, you can get in touch with Navman / Mio, they have a trade in offer towards a new Mio device

Erreur f20

This is a fault with the internal memory chip failing. It can not be fixed and requires the unit to be sent to Navman and the chip replaced.

Return your GPS to the place of purchase and they will complete the return for you if you've had it less than a year. You will need a repair ref number from Navman before sending it back.
This would cost you if the items out of waranty.

F20 navman error

You need to remove the 2 screews from the bottom and then gentley prize the unit apart from teh bottom using a blunt broad knife will help if you cant have the plastic case splitting tools which are used in the trade,

then once apart the same side where the power button is you will see a microsd card its the same as in a mobile phone just pull it down from the top (its hinged at the bottom) then make sure the card is in correctley and then close it back and test (b4 putting the case back on) that will fix it we ahve a lot of these coming in and its where its been dropped etc and jumps out thats it

Error message on Navman Navman F Series Failure Unable to detect internal memory. Please return the unit to dealer. Can anyone help?

I have a F20 here I am currently tring to fix.

The error comes from the internal memory card being faulty.
It is only a micro SD car.

It may be totally usesless, or need re-programming via the USB port.

You can download the firmware, and it fixes a working MicroSD card.

If your card is damaged, then you will have to replace it, and strip the F20 down to do so.
Then you can upload the firmware.

I warn you, though.
Stripping it down is a bit tricky.
I replaced this F20 memory card, and put on the firmware, but have a new error, that it cant find any maps installed.

Hope this helped you

No power to my ICN 520

Have you tried the reset hole? make sure there is nothing stuck in there that could be pressing on the button. When you press and hold the reset button the screen stays blank.

If you press the reset button does the unit turn on? Mine turns on when I press the reset button even after I turn the battery off then back on.

Hope this suggestion might help you restore functionality.

NAVMAN F20 failure - unable to detect internal memory

Hi,

I think that the micro SD card inside the GPS is not in the good position, it is necessary to remove the grey sticker on the rear of the GPS and open the hood to access the SD card and then you can plug it in good position.
