This washer is one year old in a new house. the cold water seems to take forever to fill - is this normal???

Check to make sure the water lines are opened up all the way. They may just be sticking a little and not full on as you thought.

hmmm..that's really odd...is the pressure from the cold water the same as the hot? you can test this first, then we can look at the cold /hot mix system

is the cold water all the way on?

if so, the first thing to do would be to check the screens in the cold water fill hose and the screen in the cold side of the water valve on the back of the machine. if that is not the problem then replace the water valve.

(turn the water off before taking the hose loose)

The screens on the hot and cold water ports on the back of the machine are clogged with dirt, assuming you have good water pressure coming to the washer. Turn off hot and cold water faucets, take hoses off at rear of washer (remember which one goes where). You will see a round screen inside the hot and cold ports. Remove them and clean. Sometimes if they are old you may need to buy new ones.

where your water lines connect there is a sc reen inside and if it is clogged with rust lime and or mineral deposit. it needs cleaned out. you can pull it out with a ice pick or something pointy. Check your screen first and if that doesn't fix ya then yes replace the unit.

If you have verified that it takes longer than 120 seconds to fill with water then you need to replace your inlet valve. You might be able to get away with just cleaning the screen but you should probably replace it. pn 8531670.
However it more likely you have a defective heater and the dishwasher is trying to obtain its optimum operating water temperature unsuccessfuly and thus stalling to heat water longer than it used to.

I ALWAYS START WITH VENTING WHEN CALLED WITH LONG DRYING TIMES BUT I HAVE SEEN WHERE ONLY HALF OF THE HEATING ELEMENT IS WORKING, WHICH IS PRETTY RARE. A NORMAL LOAD WOULD BE WHATEVER THE WASHER HAD IN IT WHICH WOULD BE LOOSLY FILLED TO THE TOP ROW OF HOLES IN THE WASHER TUB. THE ONLY OTHER QUESTION I WOULD ASK IS IF THE WASHER SEEMS TO BE SPINNING OUT PROPERLY AND IF THE CLOTHES ARE GOING INTO THE DRYER TOO WET.

Pull the hot /cold hoses off and clean out the 2 screens in the valve.Put the hoses back on and re try washer .Problem solved?If still no hot water ,replace your water valve. Please Rate This !!!!

cold water has nothing to do with the water level this is the normal level for this machine
