Question about SIIG Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have bought an SIIG JJ-P00112-S2 single parallel port card and installed it on an ASUS P5Q motherboard which does not have a parallel port on it, thus in the BIOS there is no where to see setting for a parallel port. The OS is win XP pro. Althought it was properly installed and I can see it in the port enumeration. The card fails to work. What I've seen in the device manager is that the card was installed at a very high base address EC00h one would expect for LPT1 that the address would be 0378h??? The address cannot be change because it is locked. Can you help on this please?

Access Device Manager and locate and double-click on Ports (COM & LPT). Right-click on the system's parallel printer port, and select the Properties command. Click the Resources tab and deselect the Use Automatic Settings check box. This enables the Setting Based On dropdown list, allowing you to choose a setting that matches the system's BIOS configuration. As you do so, keep an eye on the Conflicting device list box at the bottom of the Resources tab; you don't want to create other problems in the process.

SOURCE: Hi, I can't find drivers

http://www.siig.com/download Try this website. You will need the model number to do the lookup. The serial number will not help.

SOURCE: hi, how can I change

SIIG has a DOS driver on their site http://www.siig.com/download (CB10xsu.exe, this is for my hardware version 3.0) that allows you to change settings like hardware address and mode. another utility,CB10xpc.exe, allows you to look at IRQ settings, but manual doesn't specifically say whether you can change it. It does however say that settings are automatically configured, and one could hope so, but looking at the way their support is laid out, there doesn't seem to be a lot of hope. You might find it easier to set your onboard LPT port settings and let this card default to what it wants to ...
hope this helps

2 Asus motherboards with no sound

There's only really two things you can try.

One, check first into the BIOS and make sure that the integrated sound is enabled.

Next, check to see if your video card, if it is PCI express, because it sometimes has their own sound.

If you have done these two things, then perform an ASUS update to the BIOS. Perhaps the BIOS is flaky.

If this doesn't work and you have checked everything else, then you'll need to contact ASUS directly about the motherboard issue.

I have a problem, I've bought a P5Q-E Asus motherboard, and I've bought a 1066 Ddr2 ram, P5Q-e Supports ddr2 1200, and I'm scared what if 1066 won't work on this motherboard? Or will it, please help me...

It will most likely work, but it will make your computer run slower because the RAM you are inserting is slower then the one that is already installed.

Cannot connect monitor to motherboard

the asus p5q-e motherboard doesn't come with a video card. teh e-SATA-1394 is the serial hard drive connection.
you need to get a ATI video card, since th edriver is ATI, it is much easier tooc onfigure than any other video car.
make sure to get the DVI-D video card.
