Question about Canon MultiPASS MP730 All-In-One InkJet Printer

IT JUST QUIT PRINTING. iT WILL NOT PRINT NOR WILL IT COPY. The error mesage says- -- WRONG CARTRIDGE--- I know that all of the ink cartriges are correct. One web page said that this mesage means that you have to replace the PRINT HEAD Is this possible? I have had no trouble with this printer until it just quit printing and copying. Is anew print head expensive ? Where can I get it done? Should I buy a new printer? I thank you for whatever help you can give me. Lee Himes

    I did as you suggested to no avail. Everything is still the same. Any better sugestions?

Hi! As a first course of action please try this. Unplug the printer from power source and press the power button for 10secs. while the printer is unplugged to reset the system and get rid of the problem. If it still exists then it's really a print head failure which will require replacement. But replacement parts and labor will surely cost you so I strongly suggest that you get a new one which will give you a better deal. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

    Well thats it, the print head surely is faulty that the only cure will be a replacement. But as I said its more practical to buy a new one for this will cost you on repair and parts.

U162 error on black ink cannon printer


This error occurs when printer fails detecting ink level or printer assume that no ink in the cartridge. We cannot use print, copy,scan, and fax function before the problem fixed. Refilled black ink cartrige and i can't get it to print at all. done more deep cleans than i want to remember, still will not print. done nozzle clean also. i have refilled this cartrige several times...


You may need a newer cartridge
See if the printhead has any abnomal markings.
You can compare it with the color printhead.
If the printhead is good, see if the ink is flowing through the printhead.
Fill the ink cartridge to maximum
Squeeze the sides of the ink cartridge, ink should flow out.
If ink is flowing out, remove any excessive ink with a paper towel.
Install ink cartridges, do NOT do any cleaning cycle.
Since your black cartridge is full, cleaning may cause it not to print.
Do some black copy operations.

Your printer doesn't know what you are printing ... the color is empty ... so the printer is preventing what it thinks is an error ... because, as I said, it doesn't know what is coming. Replace the color cartridge andthings will be fine.

Canon MP 610 printer. Cartridges half full when forced to replace


well printers calculate ink, with printing jobs. If you exchange cartriges in the middle of these ( ex:you exchange cartriges about after 100 print jobs and the cartriges is 500 top) the printer dont know excatly the ink level, so gives these error on calculation, not exact ink level. so you need to take out and place again to reset cartridge counter.

The lt magenta and magenta just quit printing between pages


1. Check if the cartriges are correctly installed:
Installing the Ink Cartridges

2. Print a diagnostic page and clean print heads, using the printer cleaning utility:
Color Mix or Missing Colors on the Diagnostic Page
Repeat if needed.

3. If this still doesn´t solve you problem, try resetting the printer and manually cleaning the cartrigdes as advised in this FAQ:

Error code 2 on my MP160 but has paper

1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding
the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power LED is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a
service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the LED lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the
function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in
orange and green, starting with orange.)

remove the cartridge and see if it goes away, if does then you probably have a defective cartridge are are not inserting it correctly.

Black ink not printing


This is what worked (so far) with my Dell1.gif AIO A940 printer1.gif that wouldn't print black ink.

It worked for awhile when I chose photo/glossy paper, but then it quit printing again (see below).

PRINT, PROPERTIES, PAPER SETUP, SPECIALTY PAPER, PHOTO/GLOSSY


I got it to print, again, by putting SEVERAL papers in the feeder (instead of just 1) - there is a sensor that is supposed to automatically detect paper type, and it might not be working right, especially with one or only a couple of sheets.
