The NET SatisFAXtion software uses an editor to decide how to dial, and you can even test the changes you make in that editor. It's called the Validation Editor and you can get to it from either the start menu or the administration tool. There is a rule for international dialing. Perhaps it's been disabled? Check their awesome knowledge base too. Check their knowledge base too for answers. I do have to ask why you just don't call them? Their support team is top notch and has always been very helpful to me.

The modem will dial any number you give it. Check with your phone company.

Where can I find a + symbol on the dial face. I have tried to dial international calls with out the plus symbol and it wont connect me

You don't need a + symbol to dial international.

  1. Step 1: Dial International Call Prefix.
  2. Step 2: Dial Country Code.
  3. Step 3: Dial City Code (area code)
  4. Step 4: Dial Local Number. So let's say you are trying to call a local number in Sao Paulo, Brazil from Miami, Florida, USA. ...
  5. 011 55 11 2345678.

I am trying to dial the UK on my phone but the phone number needs to start with a + sign. I don't know how to do this on my phone.

You don't actually need to dial a plus. The plus notation is often used to write out international numbers, and some telephones do allow for something called plus dialing. To call the UK from the US (which is where I assume you are),you just need to dial the international calling prefix (011), followed by the UK country code (44), and finally the local number you want to reach.

TRYING TO FAX FROM PRESQUE ISLE MAINE IN THE UNITED STATES TO OPTHAMOLOGY URGENT REFERRAL TO THE HOSPITAL JOHN RADCLIFF THE NUMBER ON THE FORM IS 01865 234875 BUT IT WILL NOT GO THROUGH FROM HERE CAN YOU...

That hospital: www.oxfordradcliffe.nhs.uk
is in the United Kingdom.

Unless you are faxing from the U.K., you need to prefix their FAX-number with '011' (to place an international phone-call) and then then '44' (the UK's international country-code).

See: http://www.howtocallabroad.com/uk/

for a fuller description of the procedure.

L220 Cannon Fax tx function was not completed

It's possible you're not dialing the country's calling code or not dialing the correct sequence for international calling. To place a call out of the U.S. dial: "011 - country code - city code - number" The country code for Poland is 48. The link below contains the city codes for Poland which you may not have. Best of luck and I hope this solves your problem. Thank you for using Fixya and please remember to return to rate this answer.

International dialling codes

After dialing 011, the 3 digit code for Lithuania is 370. Dialing 011+370+(phone number) should work. Add 2 0's to the370 if a 5 digit couintry code is necessary. Below is a link to help with interational calling. All the best!

Cannot fax because i dont know what to put in the set up under prefix

I believe the "Dialing Prefix" refers to a number that you put in that will allow you to access an outside line or get a dial tone. So in an office environment e.g if you dial '99' before you can dial a number. You can probably leave it blank in an home setup.

Anyway here's a link to the user guide:

Let me know if you still have problems.

This should do it:

* first dial the US long distance code 011
* then the country code (Italy-39)
* then the area code
* then the number

For example:

* If the Italian phone number is 0577-555-555, dial the following:

How can i download users' manual. I need to get the automatic "9" out of the outgoing fax number.

Hello,

Inserting a dial prefix A dial prefix is a number or group of numbers that are automatically added to the beginning of every fax number you enter at the control panel or from the software. The maximum number of characters for a dial prefix is 50.
The default setting is Off . You might want to turn this setting on and enter a prefix if, for example, you have to dial a number such as 9 to get a telephone line outside of your company telephone system. While this setting is activated, you can dial a fax number without the dial prefix by using manual dial. For instructions, see Using manual dial .
To set the dial prefix
  1. On the all-in-one control panel, press Menu .
  2. Use the < or the > button to select Fax setup , and then press c00597634.gif .
  3. Press the > button once to select Fax Send setup , and then press c00597634.gif .
  4. Use the < or the > button to select Dial Prefix , and then press c00597634.gif .
  5. Use the < or the > button to select On or Off , and then press c00597634.gif .
  6. If you selected On , use the alphanumeric buttons to enter the prefix, and then press c00597634.gif . You can use numbers, pauses, and dialing symbols.

I have a lexmark x4270. Having problem sending fax. Sending local number, it's OK, but sending a different area code, it uses the local area code then the first 7 number of that number. Because someone...

Hi zoaj,

More then likely you have the fax set up to USE A DIALING PREFIX.

Therefore it is automatically doing this, regardless of what you input.

Follow the proceedure below ( which comes directly from the users manual for your printer type ) to change this. Delete the " USE A DIALING PREFIX " information.

once that is done, it will no longer automatically add the prefix for you. :)

I have BOLDED the relevant information below that pertains to this.

Please take a moment to evaluate my solution. Your appropriate rating of my solution would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
