Hello, i'm sorry about the problem you are having, the problem will probably be 2 fold, one is printhead, and last maybe inks, hp recommends taking inks and printhead and cleaning contacts, and re-installing, and try again, what i have done was go thru chat on hp's web site and explaine that i have done all they're instruction, and nothing worked, they eventually sent me new printhead and inks. i would try going that route, the chat was better than trying to call they're phone support.

I was having this problem when I changed my black ink cartridge. I played around turning the machine on and off and nothing worked. Then I pulled out the new black cartridge and wiped off the printer head (just for hte cartridge I was changing) with a cloth and pushed my finger in the place where the ink comes out in black cartridge to make sure ink was flowing out the cartridge and then put it back in the printer and it worked like a charm.

Pick up a can of electrical contact cleaner in an aerosol can at the auto parts store.Pull out the cartridges, and carefully hit each nozzle in the head with a short blast (use snorkel on the spray can). No reset, no nothing, just turn it back on and print.

Hi,

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.

My HP Officejet 6500 Wireless printer won't print in black when trying to print from Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office Excel or PDF. The ink cartridge is new. I have turned the printer off and...

I also have the OfficeJet 6500 and had the same problem. The black text was printing using a mix of colored inks instead of the black ink, resulting in a grey, fuzzy text. I finally found a solution. In each application under Page Setup, there is an option called "Format for". Mine had been set to "Any Printer". I changed that to "Officejet 6500 E709n [830E4A]" and now it prints the black just fine. I have a Mac running 10.4.11. Hope this helps.

Officejet 6500 error code 0x61011beb when attempting to install new printer. How to fix?

Your OfficeJet 6500 may need resetting. With the printer power on:

1) Disconnect the USB cable from your computer
2) Remove the ink cartridges
3) Unplug the power cord. Wait for at least 1 minute. Plug the unit back in (press the power button if necessary)
4) Wait for the "Insert Cartridges" message. Reinstall the cartridges
5) Close the product doors
6) If you receive a recalibration message, allow the printer to complete this task
7) Reconnect the USB cable
8) Try your print job again

If problems still exist, your product may need servicing by an authorised HP technician.
