SOURCE: CX6600 horizontally cuts text

The problem may be that you have a clogged nozzle in the print head. Run a nozzle check pattern and check the results. If the pattern printed is broken for any colour, run a head clean. You should also check the print head alignment, as it may have gone askew. I f you do not have the facility to run an alignment check, get hold of the Epson Adjustment software (try http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com) and that will do the job for you.

SOURCE: horizontal line will randomly not

This would generally be the solution if it were a vertical line rather than horizontal. Worth a shot anyway. Go into the maintenance area of your printer properties. ( sometimes easier to hit "troubleshooting" from printer properties and access the maintenance from there). Do a nozzle check. Try doing a printhead clean or nozzle clean. Now do a nozzle check again. The purpose is just to ensure that the actual cartridge is printing how it should. The cartridges are the problem with printers 99.9999% of the time (slight exageration maybe).

Hello,
one idea is that you rouined printhead with tap water and second idea is to buy new print head or printer.
Note: If you want to replace ink head, be sure to replace purge unit and ink absorber also.

Looks like a braille text

Open the HP Printer Toolkit (this software was installed from the CD-ROM that came with the HP printer) and run a "cleaning cycle",
because some of the ink-jets are clogged, which results in the "all-white" horizontal lines, where some part of that line should be black.

Horizontal lines and tones specks around text

Only known causes are a dirty corona wire or a dirty/bad drum. If you know the drum is good, a thorough cleaning of the drum and cleaning the corona wire should clear up your printing.

Prints a page and random lines have a line running across

I had a problem similar to this where it would print 7/16" horizontal band blank and then a 7/16" horizontal band correctly. This problem occured systematically when printing text.
Called Canon support after a great deal of searching around on the web and they shipped me a new printhead. Problem solved.
If your printer is anywhere near a year or less old call them up and explain the problem. They were very helpful.

Horizontal white lines through the text

Your ink cartridge (s) is dried up, even some new ones are dried up, even tho' they're sealed.

Some self-tests don't use black.
