Question about Bosch SHU9915UC Dishwasher

2 Answers

Hi! My Bosch began by tripping the breaker during the cycle (several times if I could get it to reset) and now will not start at all. Even when the dishwasher is off I cannot reset the breaker unless I kind of move the machine around a bit. Sometimes it pops the breaker just closing the door...

Thank you so much! Yes, I removed the water inlet valve and played with it for a little while but wasn't really sure how to actually test it. I'm not sure if I have the correct tools anyway. So I ordered a new one. Hopefully this will fix the problem. If not, you may be hearing from me again! Thanks again for all your help!!!

Hello

Welcome to Fixya.

Based on your post,"...Even when the dishwasher is off I cannot reset the breaker unless I kind of move the machine around a bit. Sometimes it pops the breaker just closing the door..."

These are the most common reason for these Bosch dishwashers not having power.

#1

I would start by first shutting off the breaker. Then removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom ) and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line.

Remove the murret's and visually inspect the wire for "resistance burn" and strip the wires back and install new fastener's if necessary to repair.

i.e.

Hi! My Bosch began by tripping the breaker during - 60f6a31.jpg

This is actually quite common to find a wire connector come loose due to improper fastening and once the unit is in use for a while the connections heat & cool, become loose from normal operating vibrations and burn up from all the added heat caused by "resistance".

#2

A wire severed inside the door panel, hence the breaker trips by just moving the door in an open/close motion.

Check thoroughly in this location...

The end result is tripping the breaker and no power to the controls.

Check it out and post back what you find. Thanks for visiting "fixya" and please take a moment to rate the solution/suggestion provided here for you.

Good luck.

Thanks, I opened the kickplate and found one of the wires all burnt up! I fixed that wire and went ahead and reconnected the other two as well. Now, the dishwasher turns on and does not trip the beaker but it does not seem to be progressing through the cycles. It makes that initial draining sound but then when the washing cycle usually starts, it makes a small buzz and click sound like it is going into the cycle but nothing happens.

    Hello again,

Well I`m glad the initial issue is resolved. As for the other problem...does the unit actually fill with water or just "buzz" ?

There doesn't appear to be any water going in. Just the draining sound. It also makes the draining sound again about 10-15 minutes into the cycle even though no water is there. The buzzing isn't loud, just that quiet 'between the cycle' noise letting you know it's still on.... thanks for your help!

Hi, I am on my way home right now and once I arrive I will write a reply to you on what to look for. I presently just have my iphone and it is not very well equipped for detailed answers...in my opinion.

    I'll be back soon.

    Hi,

Based on your last post "There doesn't appear to be any water going in. Just the draining sound. It also makes the draining sound again about 10-15 minutes into the cycle even though no water is there. The buzzing isn't loud, just that quiet 'between the cycle' noise letting you know it's still on..." It sounds like it may be an issue with the inlet/water valve.

Here's what you'll need to do...

**Before attempting to repair the unit please turn off the power and the water supply to the dishwasher...safety first**

If you remove the lower kick plate/toe panel, you will see the inlet valve to your left...

Replacing it or checking it is pretty straight forward. Here`s how...

With the aid of an ohm meter check across the two terminals of the valve ( make sure at least one wire is removed ) for continuity. If it has an infinite reading/no continuity you need a valve. part # 425458.

    To replace it...

    1) undo the water line...after you turned the water of of course :o)

    2) remove the two #20 torx screws fastening it in place.

    3) remove the feed tube to the machine at the back of the valve and swap it with the new one.

Once the new one is in you should be good to go.

Let me know what you find or how you make out, keep me in the loop please.

If you want an illustration of how to do this with better detail, email me at macmarkus@live.ca and i'll attach a "pdf" for the Bosch dishwasher.

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

    P.S.

Sorry I took so long to reply...crazy day after we spoke earlier... : P

I hope its not another controller issue on this model also...make sure you visit the Bosch dishwasher recall website as several models are under the recall with a faulty controller which may cause a fire! Check your model under http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/
then call 800.856.9226 to setup a recall repair appointment. We just found out about this recall and was never notified by Bosch even though we registered our unit after we purchased it...talk about poor customer service! Hope this helps!

What caused my bosch matter saw to quit cutting in middle of the cut

Several possibles:
1) Load exceeded circuit amps. Breaker tripped.
2) Load exceeded saw amps. Reset tripped.
3) Wiring failure in saw.
4) Wiring failure in supply.
Time to start checking.
Note- if the blade is dull or the load on the saw is too great it will trip one of the breakers.

I have a Bosch Powerstar AE125 where the left cut-out trips. This problem began at the end of last winter to the point I was resetting multiple times a week. During the entire summer I might have had to...

I suppose I would ascertain that the supply voltage is the same there as the outer cutout connectors. If equal, the breaker can be faulty. Worse case the heater has an intermittent short causing overload to trip out.

It is possible that the breaker is bad. It is also possible that your water heater is overloading the breaker. It is probably easier to try a new breaker to start with. Unless you are familiar with changing the breaker, call an electrician. Your life is a very valuable asset to you!

When #9 program for Bagels is running , the temp drops 130 degrees before cycle is complete. also having to reset breaker several times

It's normal for the oven to drop temperature during the first 4 minutes of a bagel cycle, although the temperature should recover to 525 before the end of the bake. If your breaker keeps tripping you could have a blown heating element and should call your local authorized service provider, I wouldn't recommend attempting to repair this one on your own.

Lost power after opening door during cycle.

Try and flip the breaker to off again and push lightly then on , when a breaker trips somtimes just flipping it on it wont catch a latch inside the breaker to actually flip it on.

Why does my washing machine trip the electric

run the machine, after it trips, unplug and carefully touch the motor,it may have a bad capacitor, or dry bearings causing it to draw excessive current,if these 2 things are not it, then look for a bare wire that may be touching case during this part of the cycle, and if you can get an "Amprobe" it reads current and check machines current draw during the start to trip current
