Question about Bosch Electric Dryer

1 Answer

I have a Bosch Axxis wtl5410 . I have been doing a lot of laundry lately and it finally got to the point that the dryer was no longer working. I removed the bottom panel ;and pulled out the heat exchanger and washed it. I have cleaned out the drum, the lint filter vacuumed everywhere and now when I try to dry something it immediately starts beeping and I can't get it to start. The light is on for regular dry but it will not do regular or timed drying.

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

There are a couple of scenarios which may prevent the dryer from starting with Bosch.

To save time and back and forth dialog, I`ll mention the most likely and what to do about it.

**Unplug the dryer before attempting any repair tips suggested here please...safety first**

There is an auto shut off or emergency kill switch next to the motor which will prevent it to start in the event it was tripped for whatever reason.

It will look like this image below and all you need to do is push it to the right ( from the back )...

If you`ve already taken the back of the dryer off to gain access you should have no problem. If you never have, it`ll take some time.

Either Scenario I alluded to ( the other would be resetting the hi-limit cut out, you can see through the back vent opening when the vent is removed and then by pushing the red button in...shown below ) will require the removal of that panel so let me know if you require further assistance to do this.

Keep me posted how you make out or if anything is not clear.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck.

I would suspect (little doubt in my mind on this) that the wall dryer vent is plugged with lent, this is a fire hazard as well as eating up lots of money on utilities. Please rate my help for Fixya. Thanks!

I have a Bosch WTL5410 dryer, which has no heat going to the otherwise functioning tumbler. Do you know where I could purchase another heating element and where I can get instructions regarding the...

Open front panel, remove heat exchanger and clean.
Unplug the dryer. remove the panel in the back of the dryer that covers the heating element. ( the inner panel). On top of the heating element you will see a thermal sensor with a small red button on it. Thats the manual reset button To test if the heating element is working properly you can disconnect the wires from the sensor and clip the connectors together . Plug the dryer back in and start it. pay attention to the heating element. It should begin to glow shortly. if it doesn't then your heating element is bad and needs to be replaced.

Unplug the dryer. Connect the wires back to the thermal sensor. Plug the dryer back in. Before you start the dryer, press the red button on the switch. This is your reset button. Start the dryer. If the heating element doesn't come on and dryer doesn't heat, then you need to replace that sensor.

My Bosch Axxis electric dryer Mod. # WTA3510UC 82/IV takes a few cycles to dry if it dries completely. The laundry doesn't seem to get warm no matter the setting. Have checked exhaust, cleared lint from...

i would check the actual electrical connections, to both the unit, and the downline connections to that actual element itself, its unusual for an elemnt to only go a lilttle bit... it works or it doesn't...
since you seemed to be very knowlegable, ohm
out the element as well as your plug and outlet
ther emay be a loose connection somewhere

Bosch Axxis WTL5410 condensation dryer does not heat up

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail (meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) that might need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can trip out or burn out (meaning opencircuit)
4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehave programs that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcode showing you were the fault is.
5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also be the fault.

Laundry detergent

Why do you want to use a special detergent??? Tide works fine! You just need to use about 1/4-1/2 what is used in the American machines. Now if you really want some exceptional laundry detergent like we use in Europe, buy Persil (google it).

Bosch dryer

I had this problem for an axxis condensation WTL5410.
When starting dryer ligghts on front would cycle through normally as if dryer were running but dryer would not turn or get hot.
The problem was the door switch.  Push in the door switch activator on the bottom right of the dryer.  Push it hard a few times and try the dyer again.
doesnt sound like a great solution - but after 150$ and 2 service calls - it was what fixed it for us.

Bosch Self Venting

If you're asking about the Condensation - No Venting Required feature:

I've had one for about 4 years with no complaints. I have used plenty of traditional dryers -- even models with moisture sensors. In all of them, it was common to find clothing that was "hot to the touch" when finished.

Every Bosch load finishes with a hint of moisture. I believe this is the Bosch "anti-wrinkle" standard -- but have never used one of their vented dryers. Even a 10 min fluff seems to add a hint of moisture to the load. Either way, you can't throw everything in the laundry basket and leave it for a week.

Europe is short on McMansions -- favoring tiny old homes without proper laundry rooms. Ventless is the norm -- rather than the exception over there. The Bosch works as advertised --producing a trace amount of ambient moisture and/or heat.
Mildew can be an issue -- depending on the dryer's location -- and the areas relative temperature / humidity.

Functions best in a fully climate controlled indoor location.
