Solution 1 answers the wrong question.

If you use say Ubuntu 8.10, plugging in the E90 results in a 'G3 modem' device appearing in the 'network manager'. Just select from the wizard provided - all I had to do after selecting country and carrier was change the 'APN' as the offered one was incorrect.

The phone appears as a USB serial device (/dev/ttyACM0) and emulates an AT compatible modem. The telephone carrier presents a PPP session after you dial a special code. (Usually *99#)

No other feature of 'PC Suite' mode works.

The above 'solution #1' is how to sync the calendar over bluetooth.

Have you received Windows 7 installed at the time of purchase? If not, check the compatibility with Windows 7. Check your Ethernet adapter with LAN for its proper functioning. Try using latest driver for Ethernet adapter from the laptop manufacturer. If the adapter is OK, restore the system to previous date on which it used to work or reinstall the operating system as a last resort.

Linux wont have much in the way of built in drivers.
You have to find the linux compatible drivers for the msi adapter before you can connect to a network

Is the DWL-520 Wireless Adapter compatible with the 2701 HG modem

Hi,
The 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi networking standards are generally compatible. An 802.11b router / access point will work with 802.11g network adapters and vice versa.
There is no such conflict reported with the above devices. But as suggestion use an 802.11g wireless card with the Bell as it would give you better performance

Thanks for using Fixya

Cant get my belco alpha 400 linux 2.4 online by wifi

First of all does the modem say you Internet check the LED light or directly connect your laptop to it through the Ethernet interface looks like a phone plug but wider if you do have Internet the problem is with the router. it is not syncing with the modem this should be fixed by reseting or unplugging for about ten minutes if thats does not fix the problem you may have a faulty router or a modem doesn't send the right code to your ICP why you can get LAN Internet and not wireless is one of those mysteries.

USB Broadband to wireless router through desktop PC

If I get you right you are useing a 3g Internet connection and have a router wich conets the 2 computers together, the problem is that you can't share the internet connection.
Without any information about the operateing systems I can tell you the idea:
First you need to disable DHCP server on the router and use static IP addresses on both PC, the IP address should be something like

PC1:
IP: 192.168.0.2
Network mask:255.255.255.0

PC2:
IP: 192.168.0.3
Network mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.0.2

In this IP configuration above PC1 has the 3g modem connected.
This was the easy part, hard part is to share the internet connection on the network, that's a little different ritual on every operateing system, try to use google to get your specific one.

However there's a much more easier way to solve all your problems if you can't make it work, but it costs money. All you need to buy is a 3G router and that will do the same thing for you what your old router did.
I did a little search for you on Australian Ebay to see what you can get.
But I'm sure you have your own cheapbfavourite source of computer hardware as well.

Hope this will help you sorting out your porblem.

Regards
Imre
