Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision W Digital Media Player

I have the same product Zen Vison W 60GB (model PMC-HD0004) and the same problem. I turns on in Recovery mode and almost all options chosen the error on screen is " Harddisk problem". I tried reload the firmware but this hung up with 90% complete. Can anyone from creative helps us to solve our problem with our unit?

Hi if your player is in recovery mode and showing the Harddisk problem screen and want and want reload the firmware the HD will need to be removed from the player and ran threw so repair software to try and fix. If it cant be fixed it will have to be replaced.

hi mark,I have same problem..recovery mode nothing works .. i live in australia and not sure yet who fixes it telss you about firmware download..have not tried yet..this is only something new.will try more things and post again Good luck Helen

it has a broken battery with it. Is it possible that the problem is with the battery that's why it always goes to recovery screen # 5??? tnx

Creative Zen Touch stuck in "recovery mode"


Hi! I think you should try this (i've already tried it and it works):
1- Unplug your Zen from your Computer.
2-Turn off your Zen (if you can't do it, press the "Reset" button)
3- BEFORE turning on your Zen, press your "Play" button and hold it while you turn on.
4-When a format menu appears, select the "Format All" option (you'll loose all your Zen data).
5-When the format menu reapears, select the "Reboot" option and listo! You have your Zen as new and should not have problem. Good luck!

Have you tried to load the firmware? First you'll need to download the firmware to your PC from Creative's website: Click here. After you've downloaded it, connect your Zen via USB to your PC and open the firmware icon, then click "Upgrade."

Creative Zen Touch firmware problem


This means both systems contain a bug, or cookie. If the firmware you accessed isn't applying itself to the device, this means the system itself has been corrupted. Double check with your system configuration properties on each device, and tell me whats going on from there.

im having that sme problem! even when i try 2 restart it still acts crazy! when u find out how 2 fix ur let me kno cuz really want this thing 2 start workin again
