    Hello,
I have the 7.5 free edition of MUSICMATCH Jukebox. I can't open it, or uninstall. If I could at least get it to uninstall I would be so happy.
    Thanks

  • mooneyme Jul 23, 2008

Lightning storm last night caused the following error window to appear when I try to open my MusicMatch program:

    Program: C:\Program Files\Musicmatch\musicmatch Jukebox\MMJB.EXE

If I ignore the error window and continue I can hobble through the CD burn, but if I click on the "OK" button or "X" it out, the program shuts down.

It indicated that I should contact my Musicmatch tech department but WHERE IS THAT???

    Thanks for any help. Mike

You don't give much information about what your problem is and unfortunately part of what you did write was truncated.
...If I understand your problem you need to uninstall and reinstall, but can't due to a locked file,
I have two suggestions one FREE program is Unlocker Assistant. (Google it) the other is a nice little FREE utility you can try. Install Microsoft "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us
If you find (PROGRAM NAME) listed just hit the delete button.
Then do the normal uninstall.

How to Keep Normal Users from Shutting Down a Terminal Server

With Windows 2000 server it is possible for anyone to shutdown the server by default. Sometimes a user, who is not familiar with terminal server can accidentally shutdown a server causing all other users to be disconnected. It is possible to disallow this option from the menu, busying a group policy or other techniques. When using a group policy to remove the shutdown command, it is near impossible to shutdown the server even if
you are the administrator. This method should not be used due to the complexity of shutting down the server after the policy has been enforced. The following method should be used to disallow the shutdown command.

Changing permissions
1. Locate the tsshutdn.exe application; it should be in the c:winntsystem32 folder.
2. Right click the file and select Properties
3. From the Properties windows, click on the Security tab
The following screen appears.

moz-screenshot-1.pngmoz-screenshot-2.png25b4a86.jpg

4. Uncheck the box for Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object.
This will cause the following warning to appear.

7a8385d.jpg

5. Select Copy. This will copy all the current objects.
6. After copying the existing permissions list, remove the Everyone and the Authenticated
Users object.

ded0230.jpg

7. After making this change, click on the Ok button to save the changes and close all open
windows.
With this change made, when a user selects Shutdown from the Start menu the only option
available will be to:
Log off <user>
Disconnect
When the Administrator or a user with admin rights selects Shutdown from the Start menu they will have all
the options available to them:
Shutdown
Restart
Log off <user>
Disconnect

Here's how to create a shutdown shortcut on your desktop

Instead of going to the start menu, choosing shutdown, then waiting for the computer to shut all the programs down, you can create a shortcut on the desktop to do it quickly. You can create a shutdown, restart, or a logoff icon on your desktop which will work a lot quicker than using the usual buttons in the start menu.
Here's how to create a shutdown shortcut on your desktop

1. Go to your blank desktop
2. Right click on a blank space and a menu will appear
3. Choose New from the menu
4. Then choose Shortcut
5. Where it says type the location of the item type in shutdown.exe -s
6. Then press next
7. Now enter a name for your icon. Mine is called SHUTDOWN NOW
8. Press next
9. The Shutdown shortcut will be on your desktop

Different combination you can type in when creating a shortcut to shutdown, restart, or logoff.

Shutdown.exe -s

Shutsdown your computer in 30 seconds and will close all programs and ask you to save all work.

shutdown.exe -r
Restarts your computer in 30 seconds.

shutdown.exe -l
This one will logoff your computer back to the welcome screen where you will need to login again.

shutdown.exe -s -t 1
Shutsdown your computer in one second. the -t 1 tells it how long to wait. (one second in this case) You can put -t 10 or even -t 1120.

shutdown.exe -s -t 15 -c "Goodbye you idiot"
This is my favorite code. It will shutdown in 15 seconds and have a message in the box saying "Goodbye you idiot"
The -c "bla bla bla" stands for a comment.

Notes:

* to stop the computer from shutting down type shutdown /a into the run box located in the start menu..
* -f will force everything to close immediately without asking to save anything.

How do i disable m3plugin.dll every time i start up i get the\ message c;\progra-i\mywebs-i\bar3.\bin\m3plugin.dll

it was a virus, luckily your antivirus has already removed it from your pc. one trace is remains in registry which will try to load it on startup.

Ok, do the following step and get rid of it.
Open Run , type regedit and press enter
Go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon

and check for the key Shell, the value of this must be Explorer.exe . if you can see some other after that like Explorer.exe C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin... , then remove the second file from the value, means it must only Explorer.exe

Ok, then check for the key Userinit. the value must be C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe, (including the comma) . If after that some thing is there , then delete it.
Ok thats all. restart your system .

Dell model DHM DESKTOP which is stuck while plug in .

Try this out:

1. Hold down the Start (Windows Flag Key) button on your keyboard and press R

2. Type this Command : shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00

This will shutdown all running programs and shutdown windows Instantly.

Optionally you can create a desktop shortcut to do this automatically. Here is how:

1. Right click on any blank space of windows desktop -> New -> Shortcut. A “Create Shortcut” window will open.

2. In the blank, type in:
shutdown.exe -s -f -t 0
It means, shutdown and wait for Zero second. Click “Next” button for next step.

3. Type in whatever name you like in the blank. I use “Turn Off PC”. Then, click “Finish” button.

4. You are finished . A new shutdown shortcut has been created on your windows desktop!

Just click on it to shutdown.
