Question about Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 40 GB Hard Drive
If it isnt picked up in the BIOS check the jumper on the back its a small plastic cover which will blank out two of the gold pins remove it follow the diagram on the front and set it to master.
Failing that check to see if you have power to the device and the ribbon power cord isnt damaged.
