Can not find bios up date for Acer sa80-g97z celeron 2.8 ghz mobo E661gxm-7

In the address bar, after launch, type information. Then select system information. Write down the bios info. Use it for a search. There is nothing about the bios on the support page for the Aspire SA80; they simply list drivers for the machine. No bios identifying information is provided for me to pursue a search. But, scurrying around, I hink the bios for the motherboard is at this address and that may be as updated as it gets. http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=523&MenuID=1&LanID=0 You will find links to the mother board manual and bios there.

I think that is a Celeron D 336 with the motherboard manufactured by Company Elitegroup Computer Systems,ECS 661GX-M7 . The device drivers are available at http://acer.driversdown.com/acer-drivers/s_195_1.shtml

Acer E1-571 bios update

(Important: You do not need to update BIOS when upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8. To know more, refer to the following Acer Support page:
http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26980)
To check if there are any BIOS updates available for your Acer E1-571 and to update the same (if you do not have the latest ones installed already), you can follow the steps mentioned below:
(Important: Updating BIOS incorrectly can harm the performance of your device. Be very careful while selecting and downloading an update. Make sure that it is compatible with your Windows version. You can do this by going through the instructions on the following web page thoroughly.)
1)Go to http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers
2)Type "Aspire E1-571" (without quotes) in the box under "Search by Product Model" title
3)Click on "Aspire E1-571" that appears in the search list below the box. If the search results do not appear, simply click on "Search" tab besides the box.
4)Your product "Aspire E1-571" will get displayed.
5)Click on "BIOS" menu in the table that appears
6)Go through all the BIOS files carefully. If there is any BIOS update available for your device, click on "Download" option of the respective file.
7)Once the file gets downloaded in your system, run it and follow on-screen instructions to install BIOS updates.
Hope this will resolve your issue.

Acer am5630-u5202a

I am not seeing any motherboards at the normal places I would look. How old is this computer? If it is less than a year, call Acer Tech support and they should repair it at no charge. As for sound card, it is built into the motherboard. If you have a PCI slot left open you could add a seperate sound card.

Hope this helps

My acer computer dvd player reads some dvds but not all of them. the model is AM5630-u5202A.

If your DVD player cannot play some movie DVDs then the DVD disc may be from a region that is not compatible with the DVD player.
To make your DVD player region free, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

I want to charge the battery from the pc?

Linux-based Acer Aspire One Non-Charging Battery Solution

STEP 1: On a separate PC:
1. Go to www.support.acer.com or http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/
2. Click on Driver & Downloads
3. Select Product Family “Netbook”
4. Select Product Line Aspire One
5. Select your Product Model i.e.: AOA150 (located under your computer, after MFG.Date:xxxx AOA 150 – xxxx)
6. Click on the BIOS tab below (don't worry if you don't see Linux listed – BIOS is OS-independent)
7. Download BIOS to a temporary folder on your PC
8. Extract and make sure you know where you put the extracted files. You will only need three of them.

STEP 2: On a separate PC:
1. Ensure a USB memory stick is plugged in and run UNetbootin by downloading and running from: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
2. It will prompt for a “Distribution” – change this to “FreeDOS”.
3. At the bottom of the window ensure the “Type” is “USB Drive” and check the “Drive” is the drive letter of your USB memory stick.
4. Click on “OK” and FreeDOS will be installed onto the USB drive. At the end don't Reboot.
5. Now copy some of the extracted BIOS files onto the USB drive as well. The only files you need copy are three: go to the sub folder BIOS_ACER_3310_Windows_AOA110 & AOA150/Dos_Flash, and copy the files 3310.BAT, 3310.fd and FLASHIT.EXE to the USB stick
6. Remove your USB stick from the PC, and plug into into your switched-off Acer.

STEP 3: On your Acer:
1. Reboot the Acer and press F2 at the initial “splash screen” to go into the BIOS settings.
2. Once in the BIOS arrow across to select the Boot Menu and move the USB HDD to the top of the list (using F5 and F6 to move them up and down). (I also moved USB FDD and USB CD-ROM)
3. Press F10 to save and exit.
4. Your Acer should now boot from the USB stick.
5. The FreeDOS screen will appear with an option to select a default option. Do this.
6. You will now be presented with a list of boot options – select option 5 (FreeDOS Live CD).
7. You'll get an error message about missing CD-ROM, which you can ignore and you'll be at the DOS A: prompt.
8. At the DOS prompt go to the B: drive (i.e. type “b:”, without quotes, and hit enter – the B: drive is you USB stick) and run the the 3310.BAT script (i.e. type 3310.BAT, without the quotes, and hit enter.
9. The BIOS should now install and reboot your Acer. Click on Settings and then System to check your BIOS has updated.
10. Restart your Acer and repeat 1. and 2. above just to make sure the Boot priority order has your hard drive at the top of the screen. It will probably have reverted automatically to the original order. If not, use F5 and F6 to put back in the original order.

Aspire L310 Desktop: can acer aspire L310 desktop work with win xp and ...

Yes. I am currently updating an Acer Aspire L310 (lunchbox format) desktop.

Many of the drivers are contained on the XP installation disk and will automatically be installed when you install XP.

Other Drivers:

Assuming your L310 has the same hardware (may not), you can use the following Hardware detail to locate the drivers by typing in the hardware model into a search engine like Bing.

NIC - Marvell Yukon 88e8056 PCI-e GB; this driver can be downloaded from www.cnet.com. On this website, just type in the model info and it will direct you to the driver download.

Wireless NIC - Broadcom 802.11g; download from www.cnet.com

Display/motherboard chipset - Once you have installed XP and the NIC driver, go to www.intel.com and click on the "downloads/support" option. The website provides an autodetect utility that will identify your hardware and provide updated drivers.

Audio - go to Realtek website and select "downloads". Download/install the high definition audio driver for XP.

Once you are up and running with XP, run the Microsoft Windows Update utility and it will find updates for many of the essential drivers.

...hope this info helps

Not all memory is created equal. for example, i purchased some high end gaming memory that matched my system specs only to find out it ran at a higher voltage than my motherboard would supply. Post again if you need more help ..
