Question about Singer 7462 Mechanical Sewing Machine
The belt has either broken or come off because you can press on the foot control and hear the motor running, but the Needle or Presser foot does not move. The Bobbin winder shaft is the only thing visible that moves. The only way to make the Needle move is to use the Hand Wheel. What is the easiest way to open it up to check if the belt is broken? Do you know what the part number is for the Belt?
By removing the top cover, or the turning wheel cover,
you will be able to see the belt.
If the belt is not broken, then try to adjust the belt tension,
by adjusting either the height of the motor, or the tension wheel.
