Question about Canon IMAGERUNNER 6570 Copier

Paper jams when using staple option for more than 13 copies

Canon Imagerunner 6570. When making multi-page copies with the "collate and staple" option turned on, the machine invariably jams immediately after producing its 13th copy. I can make 12 copies in a row without any problem, but after #13, it jams. Any advice? My guess is that it has something to do with the way the staples are stored inside the machine...

Hey, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. Things have been crazy at work and people have just been remembering to use the copier without staple mode turned on. Here is what I found:

    The first four:
    Code/Date/Time1/Time2/CNTR/Size
    0A02/0612/1217/1221/0/-----
    0A02/0611/1332/1333/0/-----
    0A02/0612/1059/1059/0/-----
    0001/0609/1324/1326/39106/LTR

Then there are six more like the first three; I didn't write them down because they were all the same except for the dates. Number 10, 11, and 12 look like this:
    0001/0522/1329/1330/77751/LTR
    020F/0521/1453/1454/5235/LDR
    5234/0521/1449/1452/5234/LDR

Hi,

There is someting I would like you do for me, I will tell you how to enter service mode and retrieve a jam code, give me that jam code, I will look it up and tell you what it refers to and what it could be.
1) Start service mode. (Press the '*' (additional functions)key, '2' and '8' at the same time, and the * key once again.)

Press the copier tab > then down the left side select jam
You will see Date, Time 1, Time 2, L, Code, P, CNTR and Size.

Write down the last 5 jam codes, eg. 0201 or 0112, OF12, 0014 whet ever the combination, if you can take down the date, two times, cntr and size, would be helpful also.

Do not go changing other settings in service mode as you can seriously affect your copier and you will end up calling a tech anyway.

Please get back to me with the codes.

How can i print multiple copies of the same document with 3 pages and have the printer staple the copies in the correct groups?

In the print driver you should have the option to collate, you need to make sure that that option is on, and when you go to send the print job, you need to make sure that you adjust the finishing options in the driver to tell it to staple.

Paper jams at the collator

Make sure collator is plugged in, of course. There is a fuse under the cover where the power cord goes into the collator.

I have a canon copier ir6800 jamming at paper side deck

If the other paper trays work and you use your paper deck more than any other cassette.Your side paper deck tires are worn. You need to replace the 2 pick up tires, the 2 feed tires and the separation roller. Hope that helps.

Paper jam left sided output rollers - ImageRunner 1330 can not see how to get into to pull it out. Lost users manual forever ago.

Those output rollers are at the exit to the fixing assembly. They wear and become dirty, causing copies to stick and 'concertina'/fold up around the rollers.

You need to have the fixing assembly replaced. Have this done professionally, or you'll end up with a fire or an electric shock.

Canon Color ImageRunner - Tab Instructions

To be able to print using tab paper from the driver

Since the tab paper can only be fed from Stack Bypass, single reverse tab paper cannot be
used. The tab paper must be single forward.
1. Go to the printer and put some tab paper in Stack Bypass
2. Press Letter on C3200 LCD panel and press Next
3. Select Tab paper and press Done
4. Go to Windows Start menu and choose Settings
5. Open Printers folder
6. Select Canon iR C3200 PS3’s Properties
7. Click on Device Settings tab
8. Click on Form to Tray Assignment button
9. Making sure that Stack Bypass is highlighted and Paper Size is Letter, select
Tab Paper by scrolling down the Paper Type list
Page 2
Hint:
In order to print to Tab paper, it is necessary to select Tab Paper in the Form to Tray
Assignment dialog box before using this option. Otherwise, the option of printing to Tab paper
is not available from the print driver.
10. Click OK to close Form to Tray Assignment
11. Click OK to close Properties window
12. Open Word document called “tabs.doc”
13. Go to File menu and select “Print…”, and change the current printer to Canon
iR C3200 PS3.
14. Click on Properties
15. Click on Paper Source tab.
16. Select Paper Type option
17. Choose Tab Paper from Paper Type list. As soon as you select “Tab Paper”,
Conflict Information dialog will appear. Click on OK.
Page 3
Hint:
In order to change the tab position, click on Tab Position button. Clicking this button opens a
dialog box for specifying the width for shifting the image data to be printed on the tab part of
the paper.
Hint:
The conflict information displayed pertains to the finishing of the document. Tab paper must
be grouped, not collated. Since the default value for finishing is Collate, the driver
automatically adjusted the finishing option to resolve the conflict.
18. Click on OK to close the Properties window.
19. Click on OK to print the tab paper.
20. Go retrieve your output.
Note:
Please note that this procedure for printing on tab paper is not the same for all drivers. CCD
drivers would be similar to this procedure, but depending on the OS Platform, exact buttons
and steps would vary. However, from such drivers as imagePASS-C1 PS and Macintosh drivers
would work completely different from this procedure. Although we will not cover each
procedure step by step, we encourage you to take time to make yourself familiar with the
procedures.

Have you tried the staple setup procedure, or maybe swap the Finisher DC Controller off the Finisher that the known-good stapler carraige came from? I think DC Controller.
