There should be 2 thumbscrews on the back part of the case where the side panel would slide back and off. On some other cases, there is a button on the bottom you need to press to have the side panel swing open.

Computer does not power up.

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this will help

Tools required: A screwdriver (Phillips, the X shaped one), something pointy (fingernail, penknife).

Assuming you just want the LCD, not the whole screen assembly plastic and all.
Use the pointy object to pull out the rubber knobs placed around the edges of the panel, revealing the screws.
Use screwdriver to remove screws.
Use pointy object to pry gently between the two halves of the panel, they are snapped in place so do this gently but may require some force. Front half should come off.
Use screwdriver to remove the screws keeping the LCD in the frame.
Lift the LCD out of the frame by its edges, do this gently, they are fragile especially where the label reads on the top half 'DO NOT TOUCH THIS'.

Voila, but be careful.

When I turn the computer on you hear a clip and a light for a second and then nothing.

sound like you have a dirty hard drive first remove all the dust around your hard drive then give your hard drive a firm tap on the side to free the reader arm which is getting stuck on the platters while you are cleaning the dust you may as well clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from an air compressor making sure there is no moisture in the air line then you might
try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
good luck
hope this helps

When i power my mac pc ,after 1 scond my pc is shout down why?

It could be power or a fan is not working open the side cover and check if all fans start spinning when powered up. If it is a power supply issue, there is no easy way to change it out. You have to take everything inside the case out. Issue like these are best left for Apple service centers (and yes they do this on purpose). Also try and remove all cards and only reinstall the video card (make sure you remove it and reinstall it). From there remove all the memory sticks and put one in and try to boot. Switch that one out with the others one by one and see if it boots. Try them in pairs also. If still no luck try and disconnect the hard drive and see if it stays on longer than previous. If so put in your recovery disk and boot from the DVD drive just to see if it boot into the recovery disk. I doubt if it would be your Hard drive giving it symptoms like this but with out having the machine I can only say to try testing every part if you are able too (before taking it to Apple). If it is a liquid cooled version 9i.e. G5 2.7 or most G5 made in 2005) than there could be issues with liquid leaking out of cooler and into the power supply. Let us know how it goes.

How do I replace the sata cable on my sony vaio VGC- LT15E

The problem is not your SATA cable.

It is either in the drive itself, or the operating system files have been corrupted....most likely it is your hard drive that is bad tho, not the cable.

Put an extra hd , now cpu fan spins and stops after 1 sec

Disconnect the data-cable and power-cable from the extra hard-drive, and try again. If the problem is the same, then the extra hard-drive, by itself, is not the problem. Borrow a power-supply, and connect it to the motherboard, and see if the alternate power-supply solves the problem.

E-machine wont power up

Your power supply is fried. I had the same problem with my Bestec ATX 250 power supply. I fixed the problem by installing the StatTech model: ATXPOWER250. It was easy to install and works well. It is almost identical to the original but more quiet. I got it for $29 at Also at online,,, June 20,2009

I am looking for instructions on how to replace my e-machine atx-250-12e power supply connection.

they're pretty much all the same.

open the case. pull the 20/24 pin power plug and optional 4-pin power plug out of the botherboard. Remove power plugs from fans, hard drives, cd drives, etc.

unscrew the four screws anchoring the power supply to the case. Slide out the power supply. Put a new one in it's place, the screw holes will line up. Then reconnect the power cables just like they were when you removed the old one and boot 'er up.

All you have to do is make sure the wattage rating of the power supply is higher or equal to the old one. Your old one is only 250 watts. You will have to search VERY hard to find one that low, so don't worry.

E-machines doesn't make particularely powerful desktops so you won't have compatibility problems. Almost EVERY atx psu on the market will work.

Power Supply

Check all power cables plugged into M/board if these are correct
remove all hard ware
hard drives / cd player and anything else
except for video and memory and test to see if it boots. If it does, one of the removed hardware is faulty if it does not then you have M/board failure
