Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer
Washing machine works fine but i have grease leaking out on the floor. It has been doing this for quite some time with no effect on the washers operation. where would the grease most likey be coming from?
More than likely this is coming from the gearcase (transmission). Even though it does not immediately affect the operation of the washer, eventually it will. This is a symptom that the gearcase requires replacement. Eventually, the gearcase will begin to fail. It may begin with slower spinning, leaving your clothes wetter than usual. Or, it may start making loud grinding noises. Sooner or later it will stop. I'm not trying to sound discouraging. You can continue to use it until it fails, or replace it. A new one costs approximately $160. The repair is not terribly difficult and I can give you step-by-step instructions. An appliance repair company may charge over $300 with parts and labor. Let me know if you wish to pursue a repair yourself. I hope this helps you.
