You can choose to sync your device to Windows Media Player. If you have a Sansa player, then make sure your music service (such as Rhapsody) subscription is current, and the reconnect player to the ORIGINAL computer that you set the Mp3 player up on - you must do this at least once every 30 days with this player - one of the drawbacks of this player.

WHY I CAN NOT PLACE VIDEO OR PICTURES IN MY DIVICE WHEN I PLUG IN MY UNIT TO THE COMP IT DOES NOT SHOW THE OPTION OF VIDEO PHOTOS. i ONLY CAN TRANSFER MUSIC AND PLAY . DOES THE DIVICE NEEDS A UPDATE...

Audio, video and image files are copied/transferred to the MP3 player from a computer using the supplied USB cable that is connected to your computer.
Most MP3 players will support photo with these file formats, jpg, bmp and gif.
Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. Can i format my divice?

To format the player you will need to connect it to a PC using a USB cable. The player will then be shown as a removable drive in my computer. Right-click and choose format. Thats it. Be aware that this will erase all of your data including songs, play lists etc.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
-----
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Alright, I haven't fully tested this out yet because I have Windows Media Player 11, so I'd have to do alot to get testing.. Any way, seems simple enough.. I'm not sure if it works. But, it's from the Philips site. So, maybe it does. Just follow the instructions on the page. Hope it helps.
