Use the Ziphone ipod touch and iphone jailbreak GUI to put the ipod in recovery mode. Then restore it using iTunes.

You don't have to jail break it.

THat happened to me once when I installed something on my ipod.

it kept on restarting, and i used ziphone recovery and started over.

Make sure to get 1.1.4 firmware. its the most recent update on ipod touch.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Times} Hello and thanks for contacting FixYa Technical Support.

Unfortunately, if you cannot recall the Passcode for your son's iPod Touch, then you will have to restore the iPod Touch.

The good thing about a restore however, is if you have previously synced the iPod Touch, when a restore is performed, all the data will be wiped from the iPod, BUT, the most current back up of when you last synced your iPod Touch will restore all the data back to the iPod.

I am providing an article from Apple Support, on how to restore your iPod Touch.
Restoring the iPod Touch

This will be the only way to restore access to the iPod Touch as well as create a new passcode.

I hope this helps.

My ipod touch 2nd gen ran out of bettery whilst watching a film. i went to charge it and it shows the apple logo for about 20 seconds, but then turns off. how do i solve this please!!!

Hello edwardross, I'd be happy to help! Unfortunately, it seems like the battery of your iPod has permanently died. This is completely normal, and all you have to do is go to a local apple store, purchase a new iPod battery and have them install it for you! There are many possible causes for this issue besides the normal (that an iPod battery can only take up to a certain amount of charges), such as the usb cord or computer having a hardware issue that might have caused damage to your iPod battery. But, fortunately, if you do take it to the Apple store and they do a thorough check, they might even discover the true cause of your battery's death and not even charge you a cent! I hope this helps!

Sadly, the ONLY way to unlock any iPod without the password is to restore it using iTunes. Below I have posted a step by step on restoring your dads new iPod touch. I hope that is easy to follow and very informative. Please remember to rate experts here (good or bad) we need the feed back. :)

Using the Restore function for your iPod touch is part of standard troubleshooting procedure. Restoring your device will erase all data from your iPod touch, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All of the iPod touch settings are restored to their factory condition.
Use the following steps to restore your iPod touch:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update. Connect your iPod touch to your computer. Select your iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices. Select the Summary tab. Select the Restore option. When prompted to back up your iPod touch's settings before restoring, select the Back Up option. If have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you
Once the restore process has completed the iPod touch restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up
