Sorry I wasn't paying attention to the heading line; sounds like you blew the output trasistors; in other word you fried the amp. It's probably toast.

Dome light short

... Sorry to hear about this.
Have you checked all the fuses; to see if they are good?

I would start with checking all the fuses, the dome light bulb and burnt wires. (burnt wires will smell) If you didn't smell plastic burning while hooking up the DVD player, then you're okay. But check anyway.

If you can't solve the problems, call the Toyota service department for help. They may be nice and give you some help.

Good Luck!

Electrical burnt smell

If you had a short in the starter motor windings and held the key, you'd get a click and a burning smell. That would be the insulation burning off the electrical windings. There's a 40-amp max fuse in this circuit.

Check charging system light and a burning smell

Probably the alternator, yes.
It could be the belt slipping too.
You could take the belt off and see if it makes any difference.
You'll need to get the alternator tested anyway.

Hello Permicioust, Hi, beside the fuse outside the amplifier, is a fuse inside, so check it out first, smell the amp for smoke or burnt parts, check for fuse type resistors on the power supply line inside the amp.

This is commonly a 'capstan motor' the part that drives the tape. This causes no eject, sometimes a burnt smell and blown internal fuses.
The motor needs replacing, possibly a fuse and a check for why it has a burnt smell.

Ok so lets try a couple things that wont break the bank first. Get an oil change or DIY. Next change your fuel filter, about $13 at autozone. Check your coolant level and add more if neccessary. Also add some lucas oil and some lucas fuel system cleaner. If these things dont fix the problem have a fuel system pressure test done to check your fuel flow. Good luck!

Not starting replaced alt, starter, solenoid, and battery is good

It sounds like the wires from the battery to the starter solinoid are burned out, possibly even more of them to the main fuse box under the hood. You will have to start looking for the burned wires you can already smell and replace them. Starter and Battery area are a good place to start.
