You're not going to like my answer, so please just leave my rating alone. I have 15 years experience as a client tech for high end customers. Call the nearest Canon Authorized Printer Service Center, get your work done, and then decide if you just HAVE to keep using a Canon.

you will have one that works again if you follow my advice

the other alternatives are VERY messy

How to clean absorber on a MX860

Anonymous,...This is a critical warning from the printer since when the printer detects the waste ink absorber is full it will shut the printer down. What Canon wants you to do is to bring the printer into their Service Facility and have it totally cleaned. The labor for this and the new parts required will cost much more than a new printer,..and therefore you will buy a new printer. However if you have the time and skill my Repair Manual will instruct you how to do all of this yourself. You can reach me at bud4golfatattdotnet.

Where can I get a Parts List for a Canon MX850 MF Unit

Ink Absorber Full

This may clear the ink absorber problem.
There is ink absorbers located at both ends of the printer where the ink head move.
To dry the ink absorber, power up the printer and open the cover so the ink cartridges and print head will move to the middle of the printer.
Then take several sheets of absorbent tissue, fold it into a pad and place it inside the printer over the ink absorber on the far left hand side of the printer to soak up the excess ink. You may need to change the absorbent tissue a few times. Then repeat the same procedure on the right hand ink absorber.
Close the lid and the printer should now function normally.

My epson me 340 ink absorber is full...please help!

take out all the cartridges and the papers..
unplugg the power cable from the printer..
manually slide the carriage from left to right and vice versa and roll the rollers in upward direction from the back after opening the back door..
if doesnt slide or roll..press & hold the power button for 60 seconds and then try again..
clean the inner area of the cartridge slot and the copper contacts of the cartridge with a soft lint-free cloth..
close the back door...
dont put the cartridges..
connect the power cable and power on the printer...
Lights will blink..
Insert one cartridge in the respective slot and close the cartridge door and check if any light blinks..
then remove the cartridge and insert another one and check the same thing..
If light blinks..it will mean the respective cartridge is not good and replace it--

DCP j125 Inkjet printer stopped printing showing msg. ink absorber is full. What to do?

well, cut the small piece of black tape (or you can use black permanent marker) and then cover the sensor of the cartridge, once the device will ask you to reinstall the cartridge and new system will detect as a new cartridge

My canon pixma mp130 is coming up the waste ink absorber is almost full , how do i fix this , can i do it myself?

Two possibilities of solving this by yourself.

First solution: Clean the absorber pads
Look inside the printer, while the ink cartridge seated on the right side of the printer, under the ink cartridge is two absorber pads. Open the cartridge cover, to position the cartridge carrier in the middle. Leaving the right portion open and expose the absorber pads. Lift it up using a tweezer. Now clean this pads on a running water. And when its clean return it back to its place. Close the cover.

Second solution: Reset the Printer after cleaning the absorber pads.
These are the steps to reset your printer and clear all the errors including ink absorber full.
1. Turn on the printer
2. Press the MENU key
3.
Press SCAN button
4.
Press the COPY button
5. Press the SCAN button then wait until it enters the service mode.
6.
Select NVRAM ACCESS further OK
7.
Select SET ABS-M LEVEL and set value equal to zero
8.
Select SET ABS-R LEVEL (if any) and is set to zero.
9.
Turn off the printer
Do this as many times until it fully reset the printer

Please give this solution a 4 thumbs up to help me improve my ratings.
Thank you for using Fixya.

Poor print quality -vertical lines in the print. cartridges replaced

you could try cleaning the print heads through the printer utility.
Also a little alcohol on a cotton bud to clean the print rollers could help but allow time for it to evaporate and dry before printing.

Printer prints 3 large ink blotches on long side of paper. New print cartridge in printer. Problem started with old cartridge and did not change with new cartridge. I slid the corona wire on the drum but...

you may insist to clean the drum part. Your problem is in that area. Or try to change the drum unit with another one from the other printer if you have one. You can use an vacuum cleaner to absorb the toner inside the corona part. You should be careful at the corona wire.
