My monitor is listed as default and I can't change it. I just want a driver for my CTX S761 that I can download without having to buy something.

The software driver/installer to your monitor could be listed or found at Please go to that website and on the search area, type the brand of your monitor then the word "driver", then it will show the right driver that fits to your monitor. Download the driver from the net and run it. All questions that pop up should reply with affirmative reply. Good luck!

Monitor will not turn on. I have pressed the power button still no power

This should be pretty straight forward to trouble shoot.

1) make sure the outlet you are using does indeed have power
2) try another power cable

If you are not getting any power at all (no lights or anything) when you try to turn this on, the monitor has most likely failed and needs to be serviced.

Monitor wont stay on

Most common problems are caused by bad caps in the power supply section, or bad inverter circuits, worst case can be bad lamps, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors:
Post back what you find.

Hi we have a ctx monitor PV720A that stays on for a couple of seconds then goes black

glenn659, possible cause is bad internal switch-mode-power-supply" failure or SMPS is detecting something wrong with lcd cold-cathode-fluorescent-tube backlighting circuit, (INVERTER) and it goes into SHUTDOWN mode to try and prevent a catastrophic failure from occuring. Glenn, visit youtube, search for video clips on LCD monitor disassembly and also also research BAD Capacitors or Swollen Capacitors and also the "WHY DO LCD MONITORS FAIL PREMATURELY" Certainly your's will be in the top two causes! Did you do the flashlight test with your monitor "on" and connected to a known good PC with the WIN-desktop screen showing. Even though screen is BLACK it might still show the desktop when you hold the light about 1" from screen. Some will, some won't depends on condition of the power supply. In any case get back to me with your plan of action you intend to take after viewing YOUTUBE stuff. Bye for now. I'm louie12fix on fixya or

When i switch the moniter on i see faint lines running up my moniter ( very faint ) as if they are some kind of interference lines, my colleagues are using the same screen on the tables next to me but have...

Hi this shows your monitor has a interference by:
1) by screen refurbish frequency you may try to change this frequency from PC, go to screen setting go high level setting click monitor and change the frequency to 70(or other than 60) ,also you may try from your monitor.
2)stil trouble there, your monitor has a problem with power supply,
the capacity wave filter not very good condition. need to change 5V wave filter capacity (two),should be solved.

Monitor wont power-up

It is usually the Large Value Caps around any heatsinks etc. in the Power Supply.. I usually simply replace ALL Large Value Electrolytic Capacitors, with same or better temperature ratings. This often fixes any problems.
