Are you just looking to completely erase your hard drive (delete all files from your computer)? If so, try Active@ Kill Disk - it's free. Use directions for Booting from a Floppy Disk if your computer has a Floppy drive or Booting from a CD if you'd rather use a CD.

Hope this helps! : )

I see. So you're actually looking to take your toshiba back to the orginial configuration with the disk you got with the laptop? It that correct?

Have you tried booting in to the CD? Meaning, you stick the CD in the drive, reboot your system and let the system boot in to the CD instead of Windows?

  • Jane Doe May 29, 2008

It sounds like you need to change the boot priority so that you can boot from the CD. Turn off your computer. Turn it back on and start pressing the F2 key repeatedly to enter BIOS setup. If F2 doesn't work, try the esc key. Look for a setting called "boot priority". Change it so that the CD-ROM drive is the first in the list. Once you change the settings and save it (there will be instructions on how to change and save the settings at the bottom of the screen), reboot and follow the instructions on the screen to boot in to the cd.

Not a problem, and good luck. : )

My password isnt working anymore and has me locked out but tells me to put in master password where can i find this master reset password at?

The only way I know of bypassing the password, is to get a full installation disc of Windows 7 and to install it, overwriting any old data.

Good luck on this repair.

Have toshiba equium L20-264. can find no access to "out of box reset" Have tried all partition access routes. Will only allow reset to “last known working setup”. Want to reset to out of box settings. Can...

most of the time if you hold down F11 on restart it will give you the recovery manager to reload windows and wipe it out and reload back to factory.

I need to completly rset my toshiba equium p200 i have no disc

If you want to restore back then you should have a recovery partition to check it press F10 when you turn on the system. If you have the recovery partition it will take you in and from there you can select any recovery option. (destructive or non destructive)
If there is no recovery partition on the system then you need a disc which you can easily get by calling toshiba it will cost u around $12.

Factory reset

This would need to be completed with a disc that came with your machine that contains an compressed DVD or CD of your computer with all software that was installed (if it was custom built) or by using an operating system full install disc (if the computer was bought from a store off the shelf.) Best of luck!

Toshiba P200

Toshiba used to charge $175 to reset that password at a service facility. There is a way to crack that password but Toshiba threatened to sue me and deleted my post from the Internet (also offered me a job, lol). You get a DB25 connector and by shorting together a certain combination of wires, then plugging it in to the printer connector on the laptop while it is off. When you turn it on again the BIOS setup screen appears and you clear the password.   I have that wiring diagram somewhere but you can google 'Toshiba dongle' to see if it is still poted elsewhere. Good luck, Steve
