Please read whole solution before accepting or rejecting my assistance.

Service documentation for laptop note - password removal - Challendge method - Contact toshiba ATS for instructions.

Possibly after entering password wrong 3 times, laptop will give out a challenge code for example 77543- this needs to be entered into a answe calculator software that Toshiba does not give away. To obtain bypass password.

Please contact toshiba you can not guess this password yourself.

Only other solution is to reload bios.

1. Get USB Diskette Drive

2. Download Phoenix Crisis Recovery Disc with phlash16.exe 1.6.5.4

3. Create Crisis Disk by running CRISDISK.BAT (Phoenix Crisis Recovery Disc)

4. Download bios used with this laptop from toshiba website

5. Extract files from archive and find rom files

6. Copy one of this files to recovery diskette you have created before (you have to delete BIOS.WPH):

(Also you have to copy to disc file "phlash.ini" and change in this file option UI Advanced=0 to "1" this will give command to BIOS to downgrade)

7. Rename copied file "xxxxxxxxxxx.rom" to BIOS.WPH

8. Remove battery from your notebook.

9. Remove AC cord.

10. Plug USB Diskette Drive to notebook

11. Insert your recovery diskette.

12. Press and hold keys "WIN" and "f"

13. Plug AC

14. Push ON (sometimes is better to push 3 keys together "WIN" +"f" + "ON")

15. Your diskette drive had to start working - if not try again p.12-14

16. For a while your computer starts to beep (near 2 minutes approx.).

17. Wait until computer will reboot.

18. values are restored to defaults, checksum error, you have to enter bios and change to correct values and save Press F1.

laptop works without password.

Toshiba designed their machines with a smart security. Removing the BIOS battery will not do it.
There are couple of ways to remove the password but you have to do it your own. The last option is via entering a combination of response and challenge code which you will have to call Toshiba Support ti get the codes.

I am providing the link on what you can do to remove the BIOS or power on password.

All the best!

You may want to go to this website to check whether one of the suggested methods works for your model or not.

If none of the above works - then you may have to go to this site and follow the instructions - for which they charge you. I have not used it. If it works then obviously better than having to buy a new motherboard for the laptop.

Please rate the solution to help fixya serve you better in future.

I noticed you have rated the solution I gave you with 2 fingers and no explanation.

It would be helpful if you gave a feedback so that the consultant can get an opportunity to know why you did not find the solution helpful. It is a simple courtesy.

My laptop charger is not working

Two possible causes:

1)your laptop charger is dead or malfunction

2)your laptop dc jack is loose or malfunction

If you need to turn around your charger at one position so that the laptop will charge, that means your dc jack is dead. Otherwise your laptop ac adapter should be replaced.

If you need to purchase a new toshiba charger, you may click the following link to take a look at Toshiba Satellite M30 AC Adapter:

Toshiba Laptop Satellite M30-742 Power On Password Reset????

BIOS passwords can be reset in two ways:

1. using software 2. using hardware.

I would first try resetting using software, here are two software apps to reset or retrieve BIOS passwords.

!BIOS - is a PC BIOS toolkit offering password removal/decrypt and BIOS settings modification/backup/restore...

CRAQUER MOT DE PASS BIOS TOSHIBA SATELLITE M30 MERCI

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your Toshiba laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.

Toshiba satellite laptop lockout

is it a windows password or poweron password? you must be wondering what are they?
windows password is when you have to enter the password to get into windows and before that you get to see the windows loading screen.
poweron password is hard to crack, it will ask a password on a black screen saying Enter a Password, and the background will be completely black in color.
if its a windows password, press the "Alt+Ctrl+Del" twice, you'll get a screen which will ask you a username and password. in the username and password type in, "Administrator" and password will be blank. hit enter. if it works, then for the rest of the steps, mail me at L2support.hp@gmail.com

My laptop poweron password forget

login password or startup password? Startup password can be bypassed by removing the CMOS battery on the motherboard, shorting the memory pins and replacing the battery and restarting.
If it is the login password, if you are on a domain the domain admin should be able to reset it; if not, did you create a password recovery disk? Is there more than one username on the laptop, and can one of those other users log in and reset your password?

Power on password for toshiba satellite m30-107

You can by shorting the CMOS/BIOS battery connector for 30 sec's with a resister pack (2.4 KOhms), but if you don't have any PC repair experience, don't try it!

"You can blow the motherboard if you get it wrong.."

I suggest you take it to a Toshiba repair shop, it will cost about $100 to have them do it for you.
