Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop
When i turn it on it just says
windows could not start because the following file is missing or currupt
could u help? When I turn on my computer Windows XP will not load. It starts loading the OS but then goes to the DELL logo screen, followed by a screen that says that the system was not shut down properly. It goes on to say that if it was forced to shut down because it stopped working I had the option to start up in SAFE MODE, and remove any suspect new hardware or software. Unfortunately, even when I select SAFE MODE it just loops back to the DELL logo screen after a feeble attempt to load Windows XP. At this point all I want to do is find a way to retrieve my personal spreadsheets and WORD documents before throwing my computer out the “WINDOW.” I do have another computer with XP on it which I would like to use to retrieve that data if there is a way to do that. Thanks!
What you need to do Is to take the Operating System reinstall disk that you got with your computer and boot from that. Once you get to the main screen press the option for a repair. Follow instructions on the screen. If you need more detail on how to do this just tell me and I will help.
