1 Answer

I have purchased a new Philips DSP 3300 hometheater. I have installed the same. However I have not connected the DVD player to the TV and have not changed its factory setting. Its conencted as is from the box. When I play a CD the audio is coming only from the front two speakers. The center and rear speakers and subwofer are not playing any audio. Please help. Dennon AVR 3300-- problem is the input signal (digital optical connections) for DVD and TV is no longer being "lock" or recognized

hi Check IC403 on the AUDIO/DSP unit. I have had it cause some input problems. If pressure is lifted on the ic then it will break contact on the board. It may just need to be reseated or the socket needs to be re-soldered.
Hope this helps.

Unless the CD has DSP encoded sound, you will only get the usual CD stereo (2 speaker) sound, unless your receiver is able to apply DSP FX to a stereo source.

Problen in installation....

You have to make sure that the video output from the DVD player is connected to a video output unit which could be your TV, or if your computer has video inputs you might connect your DVD player to it. Then you have to set your TV or computer to the correct display. For example if your DVD player is connected to the VIDEO 1 input of your TV, you would use your TV remote to set your TV to VIDEO 1.

Installing or connecting my dvd player to my television

if you're using a simple connection, connect the yellow colored output connection of your DVD to the video input of your TV. The audio out of the DVD red and white will go to the red/white of the TV also. If your TV is one channel or monaural, then you can only connect either the red or white.
you can also makje the connections in stereo if you are using a DSP amplifier. in that case your DSP should also have a video input and that is where you will connect your DVD. The video output of your DSP will go to the TV input. Just remember the color, Yellow is video signal )composite) and Red/White for left and right chanel audio.
