Adobe reader 7.0.9.msi; path cannnot be found.

Download and then run the microsoft installer cleanup utility from here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Select adobe install you want to clear and it'll clean out the installer reg entries fro the program allowing you to install over the top of it

Adobe installation

Create a new folder on your c: drive and call it downloads (c:\downloads), then browse to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
and click download now.
Save the file in the downloads folder you just created.
Open AdbeRdr90_en_US.exe in the downloads folder you just created.

That will give you the latest version and you should no longer have that problem.

I am having a problem with Adobe Reader 8.1.1. I am using Windows XP. Originally the program ran fine, but lately when I click on a link on a website that uses Adobe Reader I get a message that says...

do you the original installer of your adobe reader?

if you..when uninstalling adobe and the error occurs just browse for the .msi in your adobe installer and hit ok...

after it uninstall...download foxit reader and install it instead of the adobe reader....

hope this helps

Adobe Reader

This is a nice little FREE utility you can try. Install Microsoft "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us
If you find (PROGRAM NAME) listed just hit the delete button.
This will take care of the MSI problem.
Then do the normal Uninstall.
Uninstall Adobe Reader, do a search for all "Adobe" files and delete them. Go to the Adobe website and install the newest Adobe Reader 8.1 program.
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
CLEAN INSTALL needed here.
This time after the Uninstall, shut down completely for at least 30 seconds, and then restart.
Then do a search for 'all files and folders' - search for both 'Adobe' and then '7.0', with the options "Search system folders", "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search subfolders" checked. Delete all of those related files found.
You should do this search and delete whenever you Uninstall any programs. It will remove lots and lots of leftover junk files and corrupted files taking up room on your hard drive. It will also give you a "clean install" when you reinstall or install an updated program. (Do this ESPECIALLY when re-installing or updating to a NEW anti-virus programs and “Internet Security Suite” programs such as McAfee or Norton etc.)
BEFORE RE-INSTALLING Adobe 8.1 it's the NEW VERSION!
Download and install "Registry Mechanic" then do the updates prior to running it and removing anything for the first time. This will get rid of all your current Registry errors, prior to installing or reinstalling.

Adobe installation

Hooray! Found the solution. Seems the problem is you must have the Adobe Reader 7.0.9 installer on your system to be able to install 8.1.1. You can d/l version 7.0.9 (which includes the installer) here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/read...llversions.html
Install the whole thing, then you should be able to install your 8.1.1, which will remove the 7.0.9 version in the process, but will use its installer.
