Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have setup the DSP3300 hometheater. However when I play a CD, the audio comes from the front two speakers only. However there is no audio from the center speaker, rear speakers and sub woofer. Please let me know where did i go wrong. Pl Note: The DVD player is not connected to the TV and I have not changed and factory setting. I have just plugged the new hometheater to the new DVD player. Unless the CD has DSP encoded sound, you will only get the usual CD stereo (2 speaker) sound, unless your receiver is able to apply DSP FX to a stereo source.

Onkyo HT S3300 center, left front and rear speaker not working.

check your speaker wiring, make sure both terminals are connected properly. or could just be left speaker is disconnected. and is set in stereo mode which will only play left and right front and Sub, if you have one. try chaning the surround mode to play in multi channel speaker which will send sound to all speakers. i trust your using a Digital audio cable from your source ( cable box, DVD player) if your using analog audio cable you will only get stereo sound, and nothing will ever come out of the rear speaker unless you change the surround mode to multi- channel speaker. also in the setup menu you should be able to perform a speaker setup, make sure all your speakers are able to produce sound. follow speaker setup mode in menu, make sure you have checked the boxes or Yes to speaker you have in your system. then perform calibration and a test tone will come out of each speaker as you select them.

My Dell A225 Speakers do not play audio- just the computer sounds.

Test this setup with your walkman/ipod.

The most likely problem is in your computer's mixer selection.

Put a CD into your computer drive and play this CD.

If the CD audio output is low then dial up the mixer CD output.

If you do not has audio via CD at all then the CD drive to sound card audio cable is disconnected.

When I plug every thing in we only get full sound out of 2 of the speakers

Go to the sound test/speaker setup page, this will produce a sound out of each speaker one after the other, it will confirm that all speakers are correctly connected.

Depending on what you are playing through the unit the audio track may only be in stereo, which may explain why only 2 speakers are used.

You require an audio track in Dolby Surround/Dolby Digital etc for multiple speaker output

7.1 speaker setup: no sound coming from right front/surr speakers

Solution to having no sound coming from certain speakers in a 7.1 speaker setup for TX-SR606 receiver when playing a DVD.

Review the cable setup for the DVD player since it was identified as the source of the problem. Best to unplug and plug in the cables to ensure they contact the back of the receiver's RCA jacks. Redo the microphone setup for Audyssey 2EQ calibration. A good chance that it is the cable that may have caused the malfunction and loss of sound from the speakers. The cables can come loose during setup and not plugged all the way to the back of the RCA jacks or a defective cable causing signal loss.

Hey there, I have some information that may be able to help you. You don't have a Optical Output for you system but that does not mean you can not hook it up to your TV directly. Or if you got a fancy Receiver on your hands you can hook it up to that too. All you'll need is the Audio cable that will connect your Hometheater System to your TV or to your Receiver. Its very easy hooking it up. If you have any more questions or anything like that let me know.
