Question about Xerox Phaser 7400DN Laser Printer

1 Answer

Xerox Phaser 7300dn

All of a sudden while printing a job, the toner stops fusing to the page completely. I printed the Supplies Page and it says the Transfer Unit (Maintenance) 30%. So, immediately I think it is the transfer unit and order a replacement. I just put it in and printed about 50 pages. It started the same thing... streaked toner and some just not sticking to the paper making a huge mess. I run the Remove Smears option and it cleans it up after about 5 or 6 runs until I go to print something colored again.

My question is what does it mean when the diagnostics says "(Maintenance)" on the Transfer Unit even after a new one is put in?

And, do I go ahead and replace the Fuser even though it says it has 40% life left?

Thanks

I mean't to say that it printed the 50 pages just fine. It was after the print job ended and a delay in starting the next one is when the streaking began again.

Have Xerox 7300DN Printer. I am getting white lines in black color only. Have done all steps in the Xerox Diagnosing Print-Quality Problems page. Did not solve issue. Supplies usage page states black toner...

It looks like you may have some damage to the black IU. If you have an old one or a spare to try as a test that might help. The drum is easily scratched and this then produces marks or lines in the appropriate colour.

Phaser 7300 - one color fading on diagnostics page

Are you using third party toner? That is one thing that causes that problem. Use only xerox toner.
The other thing is that your image unit could have come defected, if it was brand new. Try changing the image unit and that should fix that problem. Good luck. 016-1993-00 image unit & toner 016-1977-00

Xerox Phaser 7300DN will not collate

Try using the PCL driver from the Xerox website, rather than the Postscript one supplied with the printer.

I had the same problem and installing the PCL driver solved it.

Specific PDF Document/Specific Print Area Black Toner Not Fusing And Flakes Off

Without a doubt you have a problem with the fuser.
What that is caused from is buildup over time of ink on the heat roller. The teflon coating wears some and the ink sticks to the aluminum instead of pealing off onto the paper.
You then do not get enough heat or perssure to "fuse" the image into the paper.
Replacine the fuser will correct the problem.

Will not print multiple collated two sided publications without individually sending each job

I would try changing the driver you are using. There are multiple drivers and it really sounds like that will resolve your problem.
For the drivers go to Xerox.com.
on the tool bar select Support and Drivers.
Then enter your printer number, being phaser enter phaser 7300 in the search .
Select your operating system and there will be PS and PCL drivers.
I am 99.9 percent sure the issue is in the driver.
