Audio and video distortion on new footage shot with... (by 3 users)

posted by garmedia on May 28, 2008

On Saturday I filmed an event with my Samsung SCD107 MiniDV camcorder and a new Panasonic brand tape. In reviewing the film that night in the camera, I saw that there are five white vertical bands across the monitor. As well, the sound portion is distorted every 5-10 seconds. I viewed footage from another tape I had shot earlier, one I knew was free from distortion, and found it showed the same distortion as described above. Trying several others I had shot successfully months ago, however, I note they viewed perfectly. I tried Saturday's film again, though, and still find the distortion described earlier. Any idea what's going on?
