Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
I lost my Windows Vista password. When my computer boots up it stops at the welcom to windows vista and ask me for my password. I did not make a reset disk when I purchased the computer. Can a reset disk be sent to this computer to place on a CD and change my password?
I have lost my administrator password. My operating system is Windows Vista Premium. There is another account on the
computer that was previously given access to the administrator files,
so I can at least work around the part about getting to my files. But I
can't install anything, every time I try, the computer asks for the
administrator password which I am unable to produce.
The password was a simple combination of letters that I can mostly remember, but can never recall completely. I've been trying for a week to get back into my account.
I've tried to install password cracks to solve the problem for me, but that isn't working because the only ones I can find are in installation files. If there was one that came as a zip file, I could use that.
I understand that the simplest solution would be to reinstall vista, but I would lose everything that I have installed after purchasing the computer as well as the programs that were installed by Best Buy prior to the purchase.
I want to know if there is anyway that I could find the password or have someone do it for me in a different way from simply guessing repeatedly at the log-in screen.
