Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to restore and then update dell 8300

Usually, after you re-install ... and set UPDATE mode (for Windows & IE) to automatic ... the system will look for and download updates (to Windows, browsers, etc.) automatically. So, shut down and restart ... and let it do it's (automatic) download & install . It may take quite a while, to bring you up to the latest Windows XP version.

Try the restore feature to correct the problem, if it works download the microsoft fix-it for future reference. It is possible you may have a virus run a full scan of you system with your antivirus program first.

this is a common error if you try to install a new memory card or if you are infected by a virus. if you tried to install/upgraded a new memory card. these are the thing you need to consider - memory card is not properly installed to the memory slot - memory card is not compatible to the system - if you added a new memory card it means that there is a conflict between the old and new memory card
if you did not install/upgraded a new memory card. these are the things you need to consider - you are infected by a worm/virus. try updating your system by installing system updates. install antivirus software - you might install a software that is having an issue with the memory installed in your system. - Operating system is corrupted need to reinstall the OS. - hardware failure try to check first the memory card then hard disk. or just contact local technician.

Hi, check; is this an automatic update download?, or is this software manually downloaded. This download might not be compatible with your system. I suggest uninstalling the update. If computer configures back to normal; check for new updates, by Microsoft Updates! Thanks paul7of9

None of the Microsoft suggestions correct error #0x80072F8F and allow me to get updates

search for updates manually. especially for installer 3.1 install it and restart your computer. Check Services and make sure windows automatic update service is set to automatic and started. Check time and Date and download the latest version of internet explorer from microsoft site. Install it and it will automatically update many root certificates for your windows. Set the security setting of internet explorer to default level and finally try to use update application of windows. It should work.

Online computer TV boots my system

Try a Windows system restore. Go to the start menu then to the help and support center, from there click on "restore my pc to an earlier date" windows update automatically creates backups before it installs so there shouldbe one just before your last update.

Dear SherriJ:

Some time you might get this issues with the updates if they doesn't install properly or the computer turns off while instaiing updates.

However you can select last known good configuration of restore you computer to earlier time.

I would recommend you to keep the automatic updates on that will help you keep your computer in a good state.

ø Click OK. The computer has now been restored to a previous time when it worked correctly.
ø (Note: - If an error message appears saying that the computer cannot be restored to the point you selected, try a different restore point)
After the System Restore is complete, and the computer starts successfully, update the computer software as follows: - 1). Update the system virus definitions. 2).Get the latest critical system updates using Microsoft's Windows update.
