Yes, you are due for a lamp. Save yourself some money by ordering just the bulb p/n UX21516 (instead of the whole lamp assy), install it yourself. There are lots of us that sell these bulbs far below what the assy costs. Make sure it is an OSRAM bulb though.

I'll tell you what I tran into and how it got resolved...
I experienced the same problem , with the blinking light...
Purchased a replacement lamp..
It didn't work(After market Universal supposably)..
Well..Come to find out.The Replacement lamp's housing looks similar, but the connecters that come out the back of the housing weren't quite long enough to trigger the microbe that activates the lamp in the Television.
Luckily I had the original lamp and it's housing that came with the television..
Took the bulb out of the new replacement lamp
Placed it in the original housing , and BINGO..It worked and is still working...

SOURCE: lamp light
Check the lamp switch that is located inside the door. Place the lamp in, and stick a flathead screwdriver in the slot (just make sure it moves) hold it there, and turn on the Tv. If that doesn't work check the new lamp, is it a generic lamp, if so they dont always work. If you still have your old orig lamp, take the old lamp out of that housing, and out the new lamp in the old housing. This should fix the problem.

fails. They are very sophisticated designs that are difficult to
troubleshoot and generally best to just replace the module, but
sometimes there is visible damage in some of the electrolytic
capacitors (visibly bulged) and high voltage rated parts can be
Hope Ya Fix It

Just make sure the Box (Lamp Enclosure) is pushed in firmly on both sides, left and right. Left side to hit the power connection and Right side to hit the little relay switch, Must be flush against that back side. It happened to me and I was kicking myself in the ***, a entire weekend went by with a brand new lamp sitting in the enclosure but not completely set in correctly with a flashing red light.
