Creative zen recovery mode

Every time I turn on my mp3 player it comes to a "recovery mode" I have taken the bottom part apart before because someone on this website said that a piece could be loose. Sometimes it works when I go to the bottom and jiggle something around and press the reset buttun. Now all of a sudden it does not work at all and goes right to the recovery mode. I have tried everything on the creative support center website. I have even tried to download new firmware, but that doesn't work because the media player and firmware update does not recognize the hardware. My computer recognizes the hardware, but that's as far as it gets. The computer recognizes it, but then nothing else does, so you can't do anything w/ it.

I tell you how to go into recovery mode, but taking apart the mp3 player may have caused ireeparable harm.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Creative zen v plus. when i turn on it says its in recovery mode thats all it will do i reformated it but it does not allow me to put music or anything else on it


Connect you player to your computer and use the recovery tool provided by creative labs.

Recovery tool: download here

You'll have to reflash te firmware with this tool.

When the firmware is lost on a zen or any other creative labs mp3 player, the mp3 player boots into recovery mode.

Note when doing this, all data on the mp3 player can get lost.

My 16GB creative zen is on recovery mode after installing an upgraded soft ware


You must give it the firmware upgrade from support.creative.com, or it will not be able to get out of this mode. Support.creative.com

Creative Zen
Try another PC or another USB port
Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged
Reset
Check for firmware update on Creative's website
Get Recovery Tool from Creative

Creative Zen – Formatting
Step by step instructions for formatting a player
1. Detach the player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on the player.
3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button
4. Select Format (All) and select Yes to format the player.
5. After the player has finished formatting, select Reboot.
6. Re-transfer the tracks to the player.

Hello,

Have you tried to load the firmware? First you'll need to download the firmware to your PC from Creative's website: Click here. After you've downloaded it, connect your Zen via USB to your PC and open the firmware icon, then click "Upgrade."

Zen 6gb white mp3 player is stuck in recovery mode
