Question about Canon i850 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

The printer will not print in red ink yet we just put a new red ink cartridge in the printer. We may have been slow changing the cartiridge when it initially ran out. Now what to we do to make things all better?

How to change ink cartiridges

  • 1

Turn on the Canon iP2000 if the device is not on. Allow it to power up for about 30 seconds.

  • 2

Gently lift the cover of the unit with your hands. Lift only the top cover of the printer.

  • 3

Wait until the print head moves to the center of the unit. It automatically moves to this position, allowing you access to all the cartridges. Do not try to move the print head manually, or remove a cartridge before this part stops and the light turns green.

  • 4

Remove the section of orange film on the side of the new ink cartridge. Twist off the small plastic guard on the bottom of the ink cartridge.

  • 5

Remove the old ink cartridge from the ink cartridge holder with your fingers. Press the tab on the cartridge forward and then pull it up and out of the holder. Slide the new cartridge into its place. Push down on the top of the cartridge to snap it into the unit. Close the cover when finished.

My printer problam is cartiridges indication are continue red.but printer cartirides ink full cartiridges ok. ple.help me.

The indication is only an aproximation. If you refil your cartridges or use reworked cartridges the printer will record them as empty.

The cartridges were changed is it possible that something is wrong with the interface between the cartridge and the printer? Also what would cause the slow printing? What is causing my hp6940 deskjet...

I have never believe in refill cartridge, because there is always a chance of leakage of the ink. I believe that what happen with your printer.

Hi, I have a Lexmark X7170 Multi-function printer/copier/scanner and it is showing an error message "left cartridge incorrect". I have not charged the cartridges and I have tried to re-align it. Any ideas?

it means your left cartiridge got some problem, might be it got short and you have to replace that.

try this remove your left cartiridge and then try to print if it work then its clear that your aother cartiridge is gone and you need to change it.

All new ink cartiridges and pages come out blank now

please follow these steps:

1. reseat all of the ink cartridges
2. perform a cleaning cycle using your computers maintenance options

if you are using windows go to the control panel then look for the printers and faxes folder, right click on the icon of your specified printer then left click go to printing preferences.

on printing preferences click on the tab for maintenance then look for head cleaning. do it for 3 to 5 times then test by printing nozzle check

if it does not work the possiblity is that the nozzles might have been clogged with dried inks. try spraying it with wd40 then let it dry for 3 to 4 hrs then print.

take note that doing the head cleaning you can take a considerable amount of your inks

Pixma MP830 is printing things green that should be red

when you change all new cartridges (make sure all cartridge ok, and the cartridge pins connection ok) still red color lost, it is the trouble at print head ink chanel some of that is too dry for longer time less using , most CANON printer head is separated from the ink cartridge, two way you may try:
1) take out the ink cartridge, drop down a little the special cleaner (best clean tools buy from dealer), to the head ink chanel hole, then set back the ink cartridge and waiting minutes
2) try put the print head bottom surface touch a little cleaner or water 1-2 hrs, if you can take out the print head unit. still not fixed for some case that should change the print head unit.

Printer won't recognize cartridge

I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .
