Yes the problem seems rather odd. I thought it may be the sound card, but i can hear the other side fine, and the speakers work fine with everyhting else. THe sound card is old, so i will try and update the drivers first and then de-install and re-install the webcam - maybe that will help.

But the thing i find most odd, is that the sound recorder's taping spped slows down by a significant factor when recording fromthe camera mic. I think this is what the issue is - do you think this could be an issue/conflict with the sound card?? Not sure what else it could be. I am also going to try the webcam on another PC and see if it is an isse with the webcam mic.

Yes the camera is new, and have uploaded the software that came with it. I will also see if there is an updated driver from logitech.

Not sure what else to do really. Any suggestions?

    thanks

Not sure what could be the problem, very rare problem. Have you tryed updateing your soundcard drivers? But I suppose if the headset works fine then its not a driver issue with the soundcard, might be a problem with the software. I don't know I suppose you have the newest version from logitech?

It said download complete got short cut but no pic or sound

Check out whether the webcam is USB 1.00 or 2.00 compatable. If the computer is of an older type the programme software may only be able to support USB 1.00. Maplins (UK) sell the earlier type webcam about £12 (UK).

I have the vx-2000. The picture keeps scrambling. I have uploaded all updates for the webcam. I am running windows xp. Any thoughts?

Sounds like the support software needs updating
directx , shockwaveplayer or whatever software your cam requires to run it

Download this diagnostic tool and run it through

Some lifecams need additional software or specific browsers according to your OS
Visit the microsoft website - enter the details of your cam and check out the 'readme' link also 'breaking and known issues link'

Saw this on the Logitech forum the guy went back to an earlier version of Skype to make it work

LOSE SOUND ON VISTA WHEN INSTALL LOGITECH WEBCAM

My best guess is that the webcam is not compatible with your OS, or some other feature of your PC - get the latest software updates from Logitech's website to resolve the issue.

Audio on logitech quickcam notebook webcam not working

go into your settings, look for sound and audio devices?go into the audio file, and look for default device and look for your sound card which should be in the column, all 3 should read the same,if not just schroll down and find them,go into advance and put all the settings to full, then go into volume and advance, right click on options, then go into properties and look for mic volume and tick it,and if you then go into your msn, there should be a program thats tests your mic for you.ok?
