    Open locked oven door

  • janweinhofer Dec 28, 2008

The oven door is locked and will not open. The light showing the words "Door Locked" is constantly on;I have followed the instructions to take the lock off --hold the CLEAR OFF pad for 3 seconds --- but the letters "dr" appear on the screen and then revert back to the time and the door does not release.

    What advice to you have?

Try unplugging the range from the power supply and switch off the circuit breaker. Wait about 5 minutes and replug the device and then turn on the breaker and see if that helps.

If that doesn't work, then it looks like the logic board has stuck, and the interlock switch will not work. You may have to call in a repair guy for this, to either unlock the switch or fit in a new assembly.

Please let me know how it goes with breaker, and any developments, maybe we can troubleshoot further before having to call the repair guy :)

Where do you find the model and serial number on a free standing frid. range. i see a sticker on the back with the following number but nothing else. 316232611

Hi, welcome to Fixya. If it is indeed a freestanding range... The model & serial identification label should be at the bottom left or right side of the frame when you pull out the ultitity drawer. Let me know what you find. Thanks for visiting "fixya" today. Please rate this solution positively if it indeed was helpful...but if not helpful let me know. Thanks and good luck. Macmarkus :)

Jenn Air slide in electric range JES8850 - numbers 9 and 0 no longer work on the touch pad. Trying to find the part number for replacement touchpad

Hi, could you send me the complete model and serial numbers from the tag on the range? There are some letters after the JES8850 that are needed to look up the correct parts.

Thanks!

Where do I find the serial number on my 30" GE range because I need a manual for the oven.

Model and serial numbers are on a tag. If you found the model number, the serial is on the same tag. The tag is usually on the back of the unit or on the side of the door, if the unit has a drawer on the bottom, check there also.

Maytag electric range will not work

you have a house power promblem turn off the range at the breakers and start at where the cord connects to the range check it there then go back to the breakers all the eyes are on their circutes so it has to be at the power source feeding them

Electric range

Yes, like I said, unplug the range from the wall socket. There should be a circuit breaker that corresponds to that particular socket. Switch that off as well, and wait about 15minutes. After that, please plug the range back into the socket and turn on the circuit breaker. That should reset the device.

If that does not work, you can either try calling the manufacturer, or get a repair guy to come and physically unlock/replace the interlock assembly.

PS, if you have more queries, please reply to this same post, you need not start a new post, or else I may get confused, considering the number of posts I have to handle :) If you reply to this same post, I will have an idea about the issue and you will not have to repeat things for me again :)
